Materials chemistry student, over a year of research in 2 different labs, great letters of rec, did both nano and solid state chem, presented posters for both fields at conferences, and two papers. Unfortunately gpa was only 3.44, so that probably fucked me.
I kept quiet about being trans, but it was still possible to deduce if someone paid attention to it, so that may have fucked me a little. I did attempt to explicitly state I was trans on 2 applications to particularly liberal colleges to see if the idea of a DEI hire was actually real or not but no dice, lmao. Oh well.
No longer planning to go to grad school, I'd be wasting the application money. Industry for me.
