My mother was physically abusive during my childhood and was emotionally, medically and financially abusive from the ages of 7-19 years old.
After moving in with my partners’ family, I’ve found difficulty in being present with them and feel like a deer in headlights whenever they are doing something that I wouldn’t normally experience.
How do I feel safe when I don’t think I’ve truly ever felt it?
