Early gum receding - help
I am 23 and recently for the past two years I thought something about my smile looked off. I have an overbite and one of my front upper tooth overlaps the other. It’s a minor crooked tooth problem. While growing up I had a lot of candies and sticked it on my teeth for fun which I assume caused enamel damage so my teeth always looked unusually white in patches. Since then I’ve developed decent dental hygiene with brushing twice a day, cleaning tongue regularly and all. I’ve never had any plague and never was in a necessity to remove my wisdom tooth for the ones that came out for now have not caused much pain or harm. So I’ve naturally not been to a dentist like ever (shame me, I deserve it).
But for the last 6 months I’ve noticed gum receding that reflected on my smile. I have a wide smile and the one single upper front tooth that over laps the other has mild early gum receding. Probably dates to more than a year, but it’s more prominent now. I’ve realised that I brush harshly though with soft sensitive bristles so I’ve cut down on that. I’m planning to go to a dentist soon for the gum is sensitive and the aesthetic is just bad as my smile is horrible and this is giving me insecurities.
Is gum grafting the only solution for this? If so, is it safe in India?
