Suspended, given 180 days to appeal, didn’t appeal but was then said to wait 48h for them to verify ID, then account was permanently disabled - all within 12 hours.
First two images are emails I got at 3am.
Third image is my view when I logged into Facebook (“continue” would pop up with the 48h info for verifying my ID… which I hadn’t submitted…)
Fourth image is 1pm. I never appealed it.
My account is 19ish years old. I have photos of my children on there - but not the main profile images (unless with me in the image, too)
I’ve never posted anything questionable in images (all kid photos were appropriate, but also they are teen / preteen now and I haven’t posted many in recent years)
I’ve never spammed or been reported for inappropriate posts.
I used to be much more active on my account but not as much in recent years.
Only two possible things I can think of:
- My university had an incident of hacking. They have secondary emails (personal email) that is linked to FB. But the passwords were different. I got no suspicious activity reported and I use 2FA.
- I scheduled a post on our schools parent advisory Facebook page to remind parents of an AGM in a few weeks. I have the same post scheduled one week apart for three weeks. I am the main admin on that page, and it’s completely gone from Facebook as well. I usually do it manually, but I did scheduled so I wouldn’t forget.
But it specifically calls out age verification, so I don’t get it…
I know many are having problems with this recently. And I know the chances of getting my account back without the Meta AI support bots recommendation of court action is slim.
But it’s so incredibly frustrating that I can’t reach an actual person to get exact details of why I was banned.
