This is my first playthrough, I took the Musician route because I gave the key to the kid without knowing the game had branching storylines.
I just got to chapter 2 and realized everything I had is gone, except for a couple of items I had in my hotbar.
I looked it up online, and everybody says the game gives you multiple warnings (at least 2 or 3), but I'm very very positive that I did not see a single one. I play games VERY slowly, I check everything, pay attention to every dialogue, and I'm even writing down notes for a lot of things I read so I don't forget, so there's no way I missed it by accident.
People say that the Doctor warns you about it or tells you to take what you need with you or whatever, but in the Musician route this did not happen. They say he tells you this if you let him live but I never got a chance for this choice, so I think it only happens in Wolf's route (thanks for the spoiler).
Does the Musician's route completely lack any warnings? Maybe they assumed nobody would take it on their first playthrough? Or maybe it was added in an update and they didn't add warning? I'm not sure but I'm 100% sure I did not get any warning.
I know the common mentality for people online is to just go "sucks to suck dude, should've paid attention, it doesn't matter anyway you get everything back so it's not a big deal" but this really took a huge hit to my drive to play.
For example I bought an axe head so I could get an axe as soon as I got to upgrade my workbench, and now that's 450 rep down the drain. Of course I know this one specific thing isn't a big deal but it's just an example of all the things I had that I lost. Of course I know I couldn't have brought everything with me, but 25 items (inv+hotbar) would've been a lot more than just what little I brought with me (a broken shovel, a near-empty pistol, a light, two pills, and a watch).
