My first language is french but I've been watching content in english for more than a decade now.
The fact that YT is investing so much in all this AI garbage is bad enough but forcing it on me like this is even worse.
Every time I see a video's title being translated I groan and every time I click on something and hear that bum-ass auto-dubbing I am filled with rage.
I tried to limit it by adding english as a preferred language in my google account and it worked for a bit but now it's back, and it's not on every video so it just feels random.
It's not even good, one time I stumbled upon a video titled 'problems with Ed' (as in the Street Fighter character) and it translated it 'the problem of education' like, fuck off ?
It just makes so many video titles confusing and makes me less inclined to click on them, and the dub angers me so much I often end up closing YT entirely.
So it's doing the opposite of what it should.
Why is my experience using the site being made so much worse by a feature I did not ask for and is completely useless to me anyway ?
It just hurts to see the enshittification of everything on the internet, sometimes I just want to stop using it entirely.
