BodyScan 2
So, my BS2 just arrived. And I have to say WOW. The packaging was as good as usual, and the materials are very high quality. Setup (on iOS) went smoothly.
I unpacked the scale (it's much more than that) and immediately plugged it into a charging cable to fully charge it. Then I disposed of the cardboard box and cleaned the area where the scale would go. Once that was done, I sat down next to the scale, opened the (latest) Withings app, and pressed the button on the back for 3 seconds. A code for the Bluetooth connection was then displayed, which I had to confirm by entering it on my phone. A firmware update was then downloaded immediately; the current version is "1081". Then came the Wi-Fi setup, which also went without a hitch.
Then came all the activations for "hypertension alerts," ECG (there was a short questionnaire here: "Are you older than 22? Do you suffer from diagnosed high blood pressure? Do you have a pacemaker? Are you pregnant?").
And that was basically it. The first measurement went very, very well, and even the pulse wave velocity was recorded (which hadn't worked twice this morning with the BS1).
I have one more question (for those who already have the scale): when the ECG is recorded, the thumb is illuminated with red light. For me, this only happened on the left side; was that the same for you?
So far (and we're still using beta firmware), I'm really very satisfied with the device. And I'd say that's true both now and in the future. Anyone who likes body metrics will be very happy with the BodyScan 2. The display is very easy and comfortable to read. Withings proved with the BS1 that they provide good firmware updates for their devices.
An upgrade it's worth it.
