I reached the quota in the middle of a prompt. Had the 4.6 Opus model do some heavy lifting. In the middle of its work, the quota limit was reached. I waited a day, my daily limit was back at 0% and weekly was at 61%. When I type "continue" in the same chat, I still get the "Your included usage quota is exhausted. Purchase extra usage to continue using premium models. Quota resets 26 Apr, 10:00 CEST." Error.
This new system annoys me so much. I get that this was not sustainable, but I hate the rug pulling that is going on everywhere.

I need to warn anyone thinking about upgrading to Windsurf's paid tier. I just got completely scammed out of my subscription days due to their absurd quota system.
My subscription renewed on the 22nd. I paid my $20. But because I hit my weekly usage limit at the very end of my last billing cycle, I am completely locked out of using the AI chat in my new billing cycle. The weekly usage resets on the 26th.
So I paid for a full subscription, but I am losing 4 days of it where the app is essentially a brick. When you do the math, they aren't even giving you a full month of usage. You are paying $20 for about 3 weeks of actual access.
This is incredibly frustrating. I'm canceling my sub and moving back to Cursor.
Just a heads up to anyone else: their billing is designed to rip you off.
I see some new UI update. I do not get what the heck is happening here. How is it different from $,$$,$$$ as mentioned previously?
Also, is there a better way to put it such a way that users can know their costs transparently?
Even if it is token cost - let us know how much are we paying for it? What percentage of daily quota is taken away for every million token.
I understand it is not the same because of cached tokens etc. But letting us know at least some indication would have been very helpful
I was wondering if you guys can agree on that subject. Since Windsurf switched their pricing model and gave us Kimi 2.5 for free. We were all annoyed and angry because all the value that windsurf provide was a lot compare to our subscription. But now that kimi 2.6 is out and feels really close to Opus 4.6, we basically have unlimited usage of kimi for 10 USD (grandfater) or 20 USD.
Isn’t it great ?
I mean I am quite happt about kimi, it’s faster than claude sonnet or opus and it does the job.
More capability is always nice but to do my daily dev work, it’s perfect !

Today I had an interesting experience: Windsurf used up all my daily and weekly allowances, plus all the credits I had (about $12) for this prompt:
With one fail promt and one successful one:
> "Please rewrite progress.txt with the correct plan. DO NOT code anything yet." [The plan was pasted in the previous prompt, and I asked their opinion on translating it into a series of logical steps that an intern could follow]
Winsurf tried to use a python script, but it got stuck. I stopped it and told it:
> "You are overcomplicating this. You can append to progress.txt in sections using cat; you do not need to overcomplicate the plan with Python. "
I want to clarify that the plan was already done, and all it needed was to append the correct plan, which was 434 lines of text. While I worked on something else:

I had already consumed 33% of my weekly allowance, and about 20% of it, and I had 12 USD in credit. Fortunately, I had changed the company card for my own since it is becoming increasingly difficult to explain to my partners how to predict consumption on Widsurf after the past month's changes.
To be fair, I could have done this myself in 15 minutes, but I did not because I was busy and thought it was pretty straightforward. I have no one to blame but myself
We have been reducing the use of Windsurf since it has become harder to predict costs. But we use it fairly regularly for documentation edit wizards and things like that.
I want to contact support to get an explanation of the logic used to consume the daily, weekly, and any remaining credit so I can estimate and project future consumption. Especially considering how often it gets stuck in loops lately.

Can I use the remaining balance now, or what needs to happen first? This is the second day in a row that I've been interrupted after 20 minutes. The error is also a bit irritating to me, but according to Reddit, it indicates that the limits have been reached.
Firstly you changed my plan to the 22nd because you gave everyone the one week grace, then went ahead to deduct the direct debit on the 17th and then reverse the plan back to the 18th again and no message, no email nothing, this leaves a really bad taste in the mouth.
Secondly while coding, half way through the session, stops me, saying i have reached a limit on the model, but as you can see I only have only used 27% daily and 16% of my weekly, is their now a hidden quota for various models as well. This was an amazing platform before, how did it descend into this farce.
I have watched from the sidelines hoping for things to subside but it just feels like, the heart has been ripped out of the platform and there is just not much left and it is really sad to watch. Please can any one from windsurf explain my problem or anyone else!

I'm getting persistent errors with the free SWE 1.6 model. The Fast model works fine.
Every request to SWE 1.6 returns: Invalid argument: an internal error occurred (error ID: [id...])
Tried restarting and reinstalling — no luck. Is this a known issue?

In Windsurf 2.0.61 if I select "Claude Opus 4.7 medium" and ask the prompt "Tell me your model name". It responds with "I'm Claude Sonnet 4.5".
If I select "GPT 5.4 Low Thinking" it replies with "Cascade".
Is this expected? The discrepancy with Claude seems concerning.
