Witnessing tigers on tar road is very common in Indian jungles where tourism is at its higher level, but it's a very rare sight to unfold for a commoner who hasn't visited the tiger reserves yet. This photograph is dedicated to them in particular. I believe you would enjoy this intense moment where healthy tourism co exist in the wild, photographed at Tadoba Andheri tiger reserve, Maharashtra - India

We had a masked bandit at night — PNW Raccoon

I left out a cooler on accident (actual accident, no baiting, has since been brought back in). Was gonna shoo him off, but I decided to let him get some snacks because I wanted to practice on my new camera. My partner named him Gerald. We love Gerald now.

Gerald is not a pet! We just loved him enough to name him.

I apologize for dirty window reducing quality— I’m going to clean for in case Gerald returns.

Feeding Time for Red Tails

Months of tracking this family of Red-tailed Hawks finally led to this moment. (OC)

Three eyases filled the nest this season, including a smaller tiercel already showing the speed and sharp focus for which these birds are known. Today’s meal was chipmunk, a prized morsel in the hawk world, delivered with precision and immediately surrounded by the chaos only hungry eyases can create.

For a few seconds, the entire story of survival, instinct, and wild intelligence unfolded right in front of the lens.
