Thriller Book Club?

Hi all! I’m wondering if anyone would be interested in joining a book club, specifically for (psychological) thrillers?

I’ve seen a few clubs around but I personally am not super keen on other genres.

The idea would be to put a bunch of suggestions into a draw & pick one or two to read a month, and have a weekly discussion on what we liked / disliked, what we think will happen next, etc. It would be fairly informal, just a place to read a good book & be able to yap about it afterwards.

It could be in person or online. If anyone is interested, let me know and I’ll make a group (maybe on discord to start) and we can chat a bit further!

Horny Boomer

Today, after dealing with our 25-year-old cat's passing at the vet, a guy in the Toys "R" Us parking lot felt it was the perfect time to hit on me... He asked about the nearest vet. Fine. Then he shared that his dog died from eating venison. Okay. Followed that up with his deceased ex-fiancée (a common dating app line).

Then, boom! The indecent proposal for a drink and his "touch." He kept talking as I walked away!

Was the empty carrier, my explanation, and my tear-streaked face not enough to show respect and make him back off?

Private access to public park

Hi all,

My house backs into a public park and we would like to get a gate installed on chain link fence that city installed so we can have a private access.

I know we need a permit which costs about $200, but the town is quoting about $2600 for gate installation which I feel is quite expensive.

Can I get the gate installation done by a third party that meets city standards or must I go through the city?

Thanks.

Hi everyone, 34M here, Durham resident for years,
Reside in Pickering with my wife and young daughters.

Recently due to massive layoffs my Wife was let go from her job. She started a course in her field to get back to work hopefully by autum.
I work 8-5:30 Mon - Fri but were having trouble with bills, daycare and and a lot of other expenses like anyother family who falls in hard times, its very challanging to keep a family only with 1 wage.
We are going to get through this, have cut all unecessary expenses to 0 and it's going to pass, I'm NOT looking for pity or sorrow.

If anyones needs work on Saturdays/Sundays or afternoons with little erands and any handy work anyone might have.......Cutting grass, hauling trash, moving furniture, running erands, getting gorceries, painting, mounting a tv .... Any odd weekend jobs, i have some experience in handy jobs and some tools but im no Plumber or Hvac Specialist
Anything to just make some small extra cash until my wife gets back to work aswell and we dont get pushed back too much on bills

Feel free to send PM's and im also very open to other ideas you might have that i can look into

Club Royale Whitby

What’s the deal with club royale? I’ve never been. Is it invite only or anyone can go? And what goes on in there? A regular club or something else?

I’m in Brooklin so both are a bit far. Just wondering if one of them is less crowded after work and if it’s worth making the switch. Or if there are any other options closer to the area. TIA.

I need some help remembering a business in the centrum via 2003/2004.

I had a birthday party in the entertainment centrum around 2003/2004 and I specifically remember going to see a movie and then heading over to a separate building that houses an arcade. It definitely WAS NOT chuck e cheese. I remember they had video game consoles set up with dedicated games as I played the PS2 HULK game.

I remember the logo as being a yellow circle with a green crocodile, but I could be wrong on this.

I remember it had a silly name too, something like "Okie Pinokies" or something, but any Google searches have left me stumped.
