[Jake Fischer] Wizards could target ex-Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins

Taylor Jenkins offense & defense rankings in Memphis:

‘19-20: 21st offense, 14th defense

‘20-21: 15th/7th

‘21-22: 4th/6th

‘22-23: 11th/4th

‘23-24: 30th/12th

‘24-25: 6th/11th

Note that 2023-2024 was the year from hell for them when they had a ton of injuries.

His team never finished in the bottom half of the league in defense and he’s had two top-10 offenses.

Another thing of note with Jenkins is that he has experience with the double-big alignment.

Jaren Jackson Jr. started with Valanciunas, Steven Adams, and Zach Edey in Jenkins’ tenure.

Worth noting with Sarr/AD projected to be the starting 4/5 next season.
