Alligator skin

Made a wallet out of my good friends alligator harvest. My second time making a wallet. Can’t wait to make others and to continue improving.

Lost Dutchman Quality Degradation

After seeing this thread on the Lost Dutchman facebook page, I'm surprised they admit to no longer finishing the edges on their products. I watched some of their old videos - they used to bevel and burnish the whole darn thing... Don't buy mass produced wallets... Cutting corners and raising prices at the same time isn't cool.

Any details for this wallet I bought?

Bought this wallet today at an estate sale and wanted a few details regarding it? Couldn't find anything online really besides the brand. Came with all the stuff you see inside of it. P.S. if anyone could let me know what this buttoned pocket is for I'd appreciate it.

Something a little different

I have seen a few people use shaving cream and dye to create patterns on natural veg. This is the result of my first attempt. I’m very pleased with the outcome.

And Now For Something Completely Different!

These were a bit of an experiment for me, but they turned out WAY cool. These are my small and large flap wallets, made in 2 layers of 2oz leather, black Wickett & Craig Skirting and some Italian Patent Hologram Calf that was a surplus from a luxury brand (I want to say the place I bought it from said Coach). Aside from the holographic patent throwing all sorts of funkyness with the camera, these feel really close to Wickett harness on these wallets. These won't be everyone's cup, but I wanted to see how patent chrome tan worked with a Veg tan backing.

I'd be willing to part with them for $80 for the large and $55 for the small, free shipping. DM me if interested.

A Two Pocket Card Holder

Improvised making this cheeky little two pocket card holder out of Badalassi Belfagor full grain leather since I messee up the cuts of larger pieces.

Love the feel of this leather, feels firm but has a sort of bounce to it when you press it in your hand.

Holds abit of folded cash and 1 or 2 cards up front, and 4-5 cards in the main pocket. Good for a quick trip out.

Might do a similar one with an ID window on the back 🤔

Made minimal stitch wallet with Horween Dublin.

Getting back into leather working and the design/making wallets is my favorite part of leather working. As I get better I am hoping to do this more on the side to sell them. My plan is to sell some wallets and get some higher quality tools.

Thought on Rose Anvil Wallets?

I have 2 Clayton wallets. The blood core and light brown. I like them and was wondering what others think of the quality. It seems to be holding up well

Wallet Recommendations

You can probably tell from the title, but I’m in the market for a new wallet and looking for some recommendations.

What I’m after:

Durable build (preferably metal or leather)

Can hold 11–12+ cards

Has a clear ID slot

Enough space for a few bills

Not too bulky, slim is a plus

Solid RFID blocking

Budget-wise, I don’t mind paying more for something that’ll last, but if there are solid affordable options, I’m all ears.

Appreciate any suggestions!

Any experience with Bellroy “Ocean” colored wallets?

I know there was this exact post a year ago but there weren’t any replies about this exact color. I’ve had a Barneys New York collaboration Bellroy Hide and Seek for 8 years and have been really happy with it. Would love to know how the Ocean color one looks over some amount of time (even new photos might be helpful as compared to their promotional photos!

Looking for something similar

This is the Kate Spade black tinsel small card set from quite a few years ago. Mine is now falling apart but I don’t want to replace it without finding something similar! I especially like that the removable card holder has a snap closure.

looking for a leather wallet that is able to hold cash without folding it, and closes with a snap button

i have been looking at all types of wallets and i have narrowed down what i'm looming for to a long bifold wallet with a snap button. i don't want to fold cash, and i'd like it to be able to hold 6 cards. i don't want the button as a strap on the outside, nor do i want a chain or anything. i don't really care about an id window or a coin zipper, but i'm not opposed to it.

i haven't been able to find one with those exact specifications. any help would be appreciated!
