Low coolant on 2014 VW Polo 1.2 TSI, what should I buy?
Hey, I have a Volkswagen Polo (2014, 1.2 TSI) and noticed the coolant level is slightly below the MIN mark. I have basically zero knowledge about cars, so I’m trying to figure out what I should buy 😅
The manual says the car was filled with G13 from the factory, and that G12 can also be used. At the same time, it mentions that different types shouldn’t necessarily be mixed.
The car is 12 years old and I bought it used last year, so I honestly have no idea what coolant is actually in the car right now.
What would you guys buy for this car to be safe? 👍

Whats everyones go to mods for a 2017 GTI, Ive only done the tail lights so far but want to make it a standout, any suggestions would be appreciated!
Just installed 40mm lowering springs on my 1.4 16v polo
I never really liked the handling of the polo 6n.
Bought these fairly cheap TA-technix springs, the handling difference is insane and still doesn't ride too rough, its much more stable now.
**update**
The mechanic that checked and quoted the parts below stopped replying to a couple texts but finally he rang to say that I had asked too many questions and that it wasn’t worth the money I was paying to do the work😅. He said he’d not reply and give me a time to call other mechanics and see that their prices are higher and then know that he’s prices were reasonable. I wasn’t even asking or cared about the prices - I had asked if the parts were new or second hand and if it came with a warranty and also if he’d done the pressure test that has been suggested.. the answer is no to all 🥲 he said it’s just my inexperience that’s making me ask these questions and that I wouldn’t usually ask if I went to a garage instead of a mobile mechanic (I would cause I just think it’s useful to know 😬) ahhhhh!!

So I’ve had four people check out my red engine oil light and no one is sure what the problem could be 😅🥲 (Halfords, garage I bought the car from, RAC and a mobile mechanic)
So we’ve concluded that:
- there is enough engine oil
- the oil quality appears good (I only bought the car in Nov so may do an interim service soon but these issues have been ongoing for 3-4 months)
- diagnostics found no faults
- I have had the sensors replaced and light still remains on
Mobile mechanic recommended doing an oil change and filter & flush but this is a guess and not sure if it will fix the problem (quoted £110 for aftermarket but good quality parts)
Any advice or next steps please would be appreciated!! VW Polo 2013
Separate issues but unrelated - The car also needs a new battery (£70) and supply and fit front spring (£130) so a costly month.
Is the car okay to drive in the meantime?! I feel like no but have been told it’s okay..

Help with upgrading factory speakers
Hi, I have a 2011 Polo, and I’m wishing to upgrade the front 2 door speakers to the Pioneer ones shown above (I was told they’re the correct size).
I was just wondering what else I would need to purchase, as I’m guessing it won’t be a plug and play type of job.
Any recommendations on what type of adaptors, tools, etc would be much appreciated. Thanks very much in advance!
Hood is stuck
So in the attached image I can pop the hood but when I get to using part 12 of the hood it’s getting stuck on part 17s latch (easier too see in second image) any ideas on getting around this is that part still meant to be up when I have popped hood .
When the 2003 1.4 automatic VW Polo, that was purchased very recently, has just been started and is cold, when putting the car into reverse, initially it’s quite stiff and it clunks. After it’s warmed up after a few minutes, it goes into reverse smoothly and stops clunking. I would really appreciate any advice. Thank you in advance.
So basically what happened was I changed my stalks along with the squib ring with a matching P/N as I thought there was an issue with my original one. Initially I had the airbag light too with the replacement unit I tried clearing via OBD and VCDS but the airbag light would keep coming back so I put my original stalk set and squib ring back in which fixed the airbag issue but the Traction and tyre pressure light stayed. It wasn’t there before and a OBD scan reveals nothing. I initially suspected that maybe it needed a steering angle calibration so I’ve tried a few times (the full lock to left then right and drive at 20km/h) but that didn’t fix it either. Any ideas to as how to fix or the cause ? It’s quite annoying as I can’t reset the tyre pressure light and my traction button won’t do anything anymore.
[ignore the seatbelt light and brake light it’s because my seatbelt wasn’t on and my handbrake was up]
I have a vw polo 1.0 tsi 2018, and if I am at say 45mph in 3rd gear and accelerate, the car sometimes jerks before continuing as normal. What could this issue be?
Alrighty, so I’ve got a 2015 Polo TSI Auto. Recently had issues with the infotainment system and dash turning off completely while driving. Happened a few times, took it to the mechanic and they did a full diagnostic everything. Identified several faults with control module, windscreen wiper stalk and basically did a full trace of all wiring to check for water ingress etc. Replaced body control module, windscreen wiper stalk, new battery etc. Cost me a small fortune, but then they said hey it’s all good now, we can’t replicate the fault anymore.
Fast forward to present day, they’ve given it back to me and we have the same issue. What could this be?
