This is speculation on my part, but I feel like the signs are good that Sowah will make the roster. Not just because of her performance but because of how the org is covering it.

Her flurry is one of the only highlights of the game the social media team has posted so far. She obviously got the post game interview. And Eric Apricot who has done official collab videos with the org before posted a video not even about the game itself but about her previous game winners with the WNBL.

Alright, now that we’ve see the team in action for the one and only time this pre-season, let’s predict the opening day 12-player roster and the 2 dev spots.

Dev spots: Suarez and Fasoula

If the team decides to put someone else on the roster until JJ arrives, I could see Sowah being that person. However, if they decide to NOT do that, I don’t think they’ll be able to give her a dev spot because I think she’ll get picked up by another team before that happens (which would be great for her, obviously). I also think LA will find a home elsewhere. Jackson was solid, but I’m not sure we need her right now, and I think we probably should invest in developing bigs.

Wanted to share thoughts after my trek to Ballhalllaaaaaaaaa.

- Nakase set up the rotation to balance giving vets reps with evaluating the new talent. First half was all about the established players getting run together, with a strategic mix of younger players to see how well they fit. Second half was primarily focused on training camp contracts.

- VB is gonna be an all-star this season. Awesome to see KT and Tip Hayes back. Kate Martin was doing her scrappy thing.

- Love how hard the players competing for those development spots fought in the 4th to grind out a preseason W. It was a preseason game for Ballhalla too but the energy was helped by the close game and the players fighting for a W. There was a possession with lots of bodies on the floor in the 4th. Just a reminder of how fun the W is

Bubble player thoughts:

- Sowah. Wow-ah. Her box score was only 1/2 the story. She was very aggressive and played like the "killer" Nakase always talks about. The reason we won the 4th. Could make the roster until Justė joins the club

- Chen played a lot of PG in the first half and “poised veteran” anchoring down the 2nd half rotations. She is clearly contending for the backup PG behind VB. Had some great plays and paint finishes in the first half. Got a little overzealous at time in the 2nd.

- Amihere reminded everyone why we kept calling her back last year. There was one possession where she took Malonga off the dribble from the top of the key, put her head down, took those long strides en route to a smooth finish. Ballhalla erupts.

- Ashlon Jackson was full of nerves. She had plenty of opportunities to make plays. Just looked a little overwhelmed at times TBH, but has the size and speed for the W. If would get if we use the developmental spot on her.

- Fasoula played a smooth, polished 5. A concrete wall of a screener who rolls very hard to the rim. Would thrive in that spot with VB dribbling, and a nice little 3 to boot.

- Suarez brings the hustle. High motor individual and has a lot of course presence. Offensively she struggled to keep up in transition. Lots of high upside potential for her in a 4 or stretch 5 role.

Does anyone have a rally towel from the pre-season game yesterday they are willing to part with? I didn’t even know they were giving those out and I love the new design 😭

Amazing game and vibes last night.

I want to take the 15 bus after games. I go to games with someone who doesn’t like the T due to claustrophobia. Where does the 15 actually pick up after games? The muni people outside directed us over to 4th, but the 15 didn’t stop. Does it actually come back on to 3rd at any point? Or do you have to walk to the next stop at 3rd and Brannon?

I know that it's streamed locally so you can't watch it live on the WNBA app but it says underneath the game on the app that you will be able to watch it replay immediately after the game is over. I'm really frustrated because I missed the game and I wanted to watch the replay! Anyone know where I can see it???

Today for our preseason game I ordered food through the app and got 50% off for using the chase card and also 10% for being a season ticket holder. Did anyone else get this deal and is it something they will do all the time?

Went to my first game last night (pre-season against the Storm) and several people had these plastic(?) winged headpieces on. I have to have one! Where do I get one? Searched Amazon and Etsy but they weren’t quite right. Didn’t see it on the team store website. Where did they come from???
