hi po !! i am an incoming freshie (f) and currently looking for dorms. do you have any suggestions po ba? preferrably for solo or 2pax. tried finding na rin po sa uplb housemates pero looking for others' opinions as well.

Hello, I’m currently living near Alabang and will be an incoming first-year student. I passed the UPCAT for my first-choice course, but in my second-choice campus. Right now, I’m thinking about whether I should stay in a dorm near UPLB or commute from home every day.

Dorms near UPLB are kind of expensive, so I’m not sure if we can afford them, especially if I don’t pass the DOST scholarship. I also have to consider additional expenses like utilities, rent, and daily food costs. However, staying in a dorm seems much more convenient compared to commuting every day, especially considering the traffic and the hassle of traveling.

On the other hand, living at home is also convenient since food and other resources are already available.

Do you guys have any suggestions for me? Does anyone here have experience with dorm life or commuting from home to campus?

PS. There’s also a local college near us, but it doesn’t offer my dream program and it’s not my dream school either. Still, I think I could live with it if things don’t go my way.

I’ve also heard that UPLB dorms are much more affordable compared to private dorms. Do you guys have any suggestions on how I can secure a slot?

Hello po! Just want to ask if which of the two programs are more competitive to get into? BS Agri or BS Agri Biotech? I’m thinking which of the two I should apply for my transfer to UPLB since only one program is allowed.

Hi! Incoming freshie po sa DVM. I just wanted to ask DVM seniors if kasama sa free tuition lahat ng requirements for the program (ex. scrubs/uniform, textbooks)? If not, magkano po maaabot ang bayad for these? Thank you in adv!
