Looking for someone with neat handwriting (Paid – UIowa)

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for someone with very clear, neat handwriting to help me rewrite typed notes onto paper in my notebook.

Around 30-35 pages. The content is already prepared, so no editing is needed, just rewriting. I’m looking for clean, organized, easy-to-read handwriting. Ideally, I’d like this done within 2–3 days. We can meet at the University of Iowa library or another convenient campus location.

I’m offering a reasonable rate and am happy to discuss payment based on time and quality.

If you’re interested, please message me with a sample of your handwriting and your availability. Thank you!

Is $100,000 of debt too much for CSE students?

Hi. So, I'm a senior. I'm wanting to attend the University of Iowa and major in Computer Science and Engineering to pursue a bachelor's degree, but it would be about $50,000 each year since I'm an out of state student. After scholarships and the help of my parents, it would be about $25,000 each year. And if you include personal expenses, books, and transport, it would be about $31,000 each year that I'd have to pay back.

The University of Iowa is the only college where I've liked everything that the college and the city it's in has to offer. I've been to Illinois State University as well, and I really liked the college, but I didn't like the feel of their city (Bloomington-Normal) because it didn't look like a good place to live after graduation since it was so run down. That being said, Illinois State would be $15,000 each year ($21,000 if you include personal expenses), and I'm not sure how much the feel of the city should impact my decision. Also, another reason why I liked the University of Iowa and its city so much was because I'm gay and they both seemed pretty supportive of the LGBTQ+ community. I live in a small city where that's not so much the case, and I'm pretty quiet when I'm at school. So, I feel like this could be a good opportunity for me to grow. I'm sure Illinois State could give me those opportunities as well, but again, the city looked really run down and not super welcoming.

Also, one of the reasons why I'm still considering the University of Iowa is that I've heard CSE majors tend to have very high salaries. I don't qualify for FAFSA grants. It's been really hard for me to make a college decision, and I'd like to hear your opinions. Would it be a dumb decision for me to attend the University of Iowa considering its cost?

Library mac and cheese

Does anyone either know or have access to the recipe for the main library mac and cheese? It is decadent. It is heavenly. Otherworldly, even. I’m running out of dining dollars and I want to make it at home. I looked online for a copycat but it’s UofI library mac and cheese so there obviously wasn’t one. Release it to the public and I’ll be forever grateful. Matter of fact, come over, I’ll make you a plate!

State of Higher Education in Iowa, Apr 29, 5-7pm at the Student Innovation Center and virtually

United Campus Workers of Iowa, supported by AFSCME and AAUP-ISU, are holding an event Wednesday, April 29th from 5-7pm for employees at ISU including graduate students, faculty, and staff. Snacks will be provided and you can RSVP with your non-university email here. We’ll have socializing until 5:30, a 30 minute talk, followed by discussions of common issues faced by employees.

In the last few years, workers at Iowa State University, University of Iowa and University of Northern Iowa have formed a union with the Communication Workers of America (CWA) called United Campus Workers of Iowa

We’re inviting workers to get involved with shaping our public universities into workplaces we are proud of while education and our livelihoods are under attack.

Our union is wall-to-wall and is intended for those workers not already covered by collective bargaining agreements, including graduate students, faculty, and P&S staff. We encourage merit staff to join AFSCME.

Learn more about your union and join today - ucwiowa.org.

DM if you have any questions or reach out via our website to learn more.

EDIT: info for concurrent events at UIowa and UNI.

- UIowa: supported by Campaign to Organize Graduate Students (COGS) and will be at Iowa City Public library room D (same time and day)

- UNI: Supported by United Faculty and will be at Maucker Union Elm Room (same time and day)
