How do you actually do your tax prep?

Genuine question. I'm a sole trader (graphic design / courier) and every year I spend the same 3-4 weekends categorizing CommBank CSVs, working out home office %, calculating crypto CGT, etc.

Curious what others do:

• Do you use accounting software (Xero, MYOB, Hnry)?
• Pay an accountant the full $300-800?
• DIY in spreadsheets?
• Just hand everything to a tax agent and pray?

Trying to figure out if my pain is universal or if I'm just doing it wrong. Tax deadline for self-lodge is October 31, so this is timely.

Newish driver, platinum status.

I can be smack in the middle of a highlighted surge area and never get a trip. Not sometimes never. Always never.

Not paranoid or think the universe is against me. Just curious why this might be.

Hey everyone. I’m honestly posting this with a heavy heart because I’ve been trying so hard to keep things together, and this situation hit me out of nowhere.

I’ve been leasing a car through U Cars, and today I was told the company is shutting down. I have to return the vehicle tomorrow, and that means I’ll be completely without transportation overnight.

I drive for Uber, and I also work another job about 25 miles away. My car isn’t just a convenience — it’s literally how I survive, how I pay my bills, how I’m trying to rebuild after a really rough year. I’ve been fighting to get back on my feet, and this feels like one more thing trying to knock me down.

I’m looking for anyone in the Dallas/DFW area who has a second vehicle they’d be willing to lease to me weekly for the next 2–3 weeks while I secure something permanent. I’m responsible, I pay upfront, and I’ll treat the vehicle with respect. I’m not asking for a handout — just a chance to keep working and not lose everything I’ve been trying to rebuild.

I just bought another car yesterday, and of course, I don't have the registration yet, but I do have the paperwork as proof that I purchased the car. I have temporary plates and I also have insurance already on the car. I sent in my insurance information, I also sent in my plate number, which is a temporary plate number. But now, how do I send something in place of the registration since I don't have one yet? I do have the bill of sale that has the VIN number and everything on it, but when I try to upload the bill of sale, they said that that's not what they needed. And since I can't call anybody over at Uber anymore, I'm having trouble figuring this out. Would someone please advise?

I drove for Uber for 10 years with absolutely no issues. Now they’ve deactivated me for my background out of the blue. I plead guilty to a misdemeanor 20 years ago but it was on my background when they hired me. So why are they deactivating me for it now??

I tried to sign it for Uber and they immediately blocked my account. I got an email saying that I had an original account that I needed to sign into but I’ve never had an account so I’m assuming that my best friend tried to do that because she’s shady like that, but I can’t get a hold of Uber because when I login it just says blocked, it doesn’t give me a hell button or anything like that. Do you guys have any tricks to contact Uber so that I can maybe resolve this? I would greatly appreciate it.
