“Superposition of influence” does something that neither “gravitational field” nor “quantum superposition” does alone — it names the relational simultaneity problem at the classical level without requiring quantum mechanics to make the point.

That’s important because most people dismiss the Laplace critique by saying “well, quantum” and moving on, as if classical physics would otherwise be fine.
