Hello guys, I'm a student from a 2nd tier college and i have a cgpa of 7.7 and currently in 4th semester cse department. As far as I have heard they look for skills and experience in placement from the placement officer himself when he was lecturing our class on decipline. And I'm not very sure if it's true. I am really worried about it for a very long time. I do have some personal reasons why my cgpa is like this. And people in my class really behave like cgpa is their whole life and marks are like water without which they can't live. I'm really scared what's gonna happen??? Need some help, does cgpa really matter during placements?? As a side not highest cgpa in my class is 9.1 and department highest is 9.2. and after calculating my future likely gpa, it's going to be nowhere close to 8 even if i ger 8+ in this sem for my placements in 5th or 6th semester.

Just for context, people in my class got no skills, most of them just aspire either upsc or some govt exams, and cse is just their side quest where they might up chatgpt answers for all the units, go write them and forget the next minute

Anyways what do I do now??? Any way to increase cgpa in one shot? Please help, suggest, advise, anything is fine
