I wanted to break down for you how that common DoorDash scam works, so that us dashers don't fall for it anymore. I have noticed quite a few newbies who become victim of this and it is 100% avoidable if you know how they do it:

The scammer places a small order from let's say Taco Bell. You accept the order and go to Taco bell. The scammer placing the order calls you. It shows "Doordash" on your phone, because he is actually calling as a "customer". When you answer the "Doordash" call, the scammer claims he is from "DD support" and proceeds to tell you some excuse why the order is fraudulent or needs to be cancelled. Since they are the ones who actually placed the order, they call you by your name, which makes it more real in you thinking that this indeed is DD support calling. They tell you that you will get half pay for the order if it is cancelled and ask you to confirm your email. While you confirm your email, they have the dasher LOGIN screen up. They type your email into the log in screen, but in order to log into your account, they need a verification code that is sent to your phone. They ask you to verify the code, which they supposedly sent to your phone. When you give them this code, they are able to log into your dasher account and they are able to withdraw the money from your crimson card or change your bank info that your earnings get deposited in their account. Next thing you know is your hard earned money disappeared out of your account. Do not give out any verification codes or emails to DD support!!!! DD knows who we are and they do not have to ask for anything. They know our info. Safe dashing to you all!!! 🫶🏻
