Would my current grades give me a realistic shot at being admitted to an undergraduate engineering program at Politecnico di Milano

- University of Padua (UniPD) – Information Engineering
◦ I already have an offer for this program.
◦ Information engineering is a super hot, in-demand field right now, with great career prospects.
◦ However, UniPD’s global ranking and name recognition are not as strong as Politecnico di Milano.
- Politecnico di Milano (Polimi) – Civil Engineering
◦ Based on past admission data, my grades would only get me into Civil Engineering at Polimi.
◦ Polimi has a way higher global ranking and better international reputation, which is a big plus.
◦ But the program itself is not very promising in terms of career prospects, and I’m not passionate about it.
I’m torn between choosing a top-ranked school with a less-than-ideal major vs. a slightly lower-ranked school with a strong, relevant major.
Has anyone here been in a similar situation, or has experience with either of these programs? Any advice would be much appreciated!
