Psychology or nursing?
Hello, I’m a second year psych student and have just been really disliking psychology so much lately. It’s not at all what I expected in a bad way and I just genuinely do not have the motivation to continue it or study for anything. I’ve been giving a lot of thought into transferring into bachelors of nursing instead of finishing psychology but everyone keeps telling me to finish my psych degree then do a masters of nursing. It sounds good in theory but in this point of time I just really hate everything I’m doing in psychology and don’t want to spend another year doing it.
On the other hand, another handful of people keep telling me how terrible nursing is study wise and job wise and it’s making me question everything. I’ve talked to a few nursing students to get their opinion on it and it’s something I can see myself doing. The only reason I even went into to psychology was because I want a rewarding job that will allow me to help people, to me that is a job I can see myself doing for a long time so nursing in theory is a good option but those people telling me how terrible it is makes me really scared that I’m going to hate it like psychology. So I just want advice from nurses I feel like no one will give me better insights than you on what I should do. should I just transfer next year and not waste more time with psychology or finish it, even if I did finish it I wouldn’t use the degree as the jobs you can get with it isn’t that great. Any help would be appreciated!
