I can tell if a party is going to die in the first 30 seconds

I DJ in nightlife/strip clubs and there’s a moment most people don’t notice.

First transition of the night.

Not the first song the first transition.

If I switch tracks and:

nobody reacts

nobody looks up

energy stays flat

I already know I’m about to fight the room for the next hour.

But if even 3–5 people react?

Head nod, look at their friend, small movement…

That’s all I need. The party will “kick in” it just needs a push.

Crazy part is people think it’s about the crowd size or the venue.

It’s not. It’s about that first shared reaction.

I’ve seen packed rooms feel dead and half-empty rooms turn into chaos.

Curious if anyone else notices moments like that in their field.

(If y’all want, I can break down how I recover a dead floor in a few songs.)
