Two offers which one?
Hi everyone. I’m a new grad with a conundrum. I was hoping for some help deciding. Before we start please save the ICU is no place for a new grad. I’ve worked in an ICU lite IMU for the last 3 years. I’ve been offered an IMU position and an ICU position. I’d like to get help deciding. The ICU position would require me to relocate and leave my emotional grounding. They are however paying me for my experience and they seem nice. I expect to have to study. IMU is day shift at a hospital system people say is hard to get into. It does not require me to relocate and my significant other pays our bills. I would pick up a few. If I relocate, I would be moving by myself. I struggle with being isolated and not having anyone nearby. I’m worried about my mental health because I know in any role I am going to be taxed mentally, physically, and emotionally, but especially ICU. I’d be by myself. What advice would you give and why? I don’t know which one to take. I plan to eventually go back home when I gain my experience in ICU if that’s the route I take after a year or two. I’d like to work ICU locally.
