Hi everyone,
I live in Ontario and I have fixed term end lease for a one bedroom apartment, ending date is Feb 2027.
I had a fall accident in the parking lot of my building and decided to change my job and got a job offer and accepted the job which is in another province of Canada.
My landlord says you need to assign your lease and you have to pay 500 CAD app fee for the lease assignment and find a person to assign the lease and the person should be approved by the landlord.
I found someone to get my lease assigned to them and they reached out to my landlord for the application and my landlord is not doing well in processing their application, sometimes lying about it; my landlord is claiming that the candidate for the lease assignment is under process of approval and the landlord might reject the case.
I talked to TLB and they told me if they rejected the new application put n9 and after two months you won't be responsible for the remaining of the lease.
After introducing the new person for lease assignment, I sent the n9 to my landlord, i don't know if that was a good move or not.
My question is what should I do to get out of the lease now?
I didn't follow up with the injury happened in the parking lot of the property, and I am thinking maybe I should follow up with that, since my landlord is not looking for a peaceful way to end the contract.
Please help me find a way.
Thanks
