Shirou Emiya and Kirei Kotomine are the 2 best written characters in all of Type-Moon

They aren't so different from each other.

Shirou can only find true joy from saving and helping others while Kirei only finds true joy from hurting others and causing pain.

They both work so well is because they are both natural enemies towards each other but at the same time they could have been the best mentor student dynamic.

I tried tweaking the art and sprites of Leonidas I from Fate/Grand Order.

Growing up when Greek and Roman mythology comics(Original OOP edition, 2002) were all the rage, I had a certain romanticism for Hoplites. I watched 300 as a movie and later read the graphic novel... and the movie Troy was the last one I came across. Even though it was the last one I looked into, it was very impressive. Achilles’ dark armor had a certain heavy feel to it that I found more substantial than other, flashier characters.

Because of that, I had mixed feelings about Leonidas in FGO. The art is cool, but the sprites and motions are a bit...

To be honest, I found the design a bit disappointing as well. I heard the artist struggled to move away from the 300 style and eventually settled on a compromise. If it were me, I would have recommended both the mythology comics and the movie Troy! Of course, 300 is great too. But there are four different stages, right? They could have brought out a variety of charms!

The same goes for the spear length. Usually, spears in subculture are shortened or distorted because of the screen and composition, but this is just too short! It looks shorter than a greatsword.

There are many acclaimed directions where the "King of Action," the sword, subtly extends its length (like in anime action). It's really a shame that polearms like spears often throw away their own charm even though their length is their greatest appeal.

So, I tried making this. I went with a historical spear length (Dory; about 2.5m) and a superhuman/heroic spear length (about 4.0m).

A long weapon is romantic in itself... especially when the class is Lancer...

Many large characters are appearing in FGO these days. I don't think a spear of this length would be impossible.

If the day ever comes for a sprite and motion renewal, I hope it gets a more refreshing design.

I’ve actually used quite a few Holy Grails on Leonidas!

At least it's a relief that he often appears cool in media other than FGO.

The ending of the Babylonia anime was disappointing, but I think they handled Leonidas's final moments brilliantly.

The scene in the Shimousa comics where he is summoned as a Shadow Servant to use his Noble Phantasm also left an impression with its magnificent artwork and action.

The Noble Phantasm animation in Arcade was excellent.

If there’s a downside, maybe it’s just that there isn’t much fan art...

Anyway, I like Leonidas. How about you all?

About the visual novel and the anime adaptations

So im currently Reading through the ubw route in the visual novel, about halfway there , and ive obviously read through the fate route and completed it , but man i really wanna check out the anime , i am gonna Do both anyway (anime and visual novel) but some people said that seeing the anime first will ruine the experience especially for ubw because it's the most faithful from the three , my question is , is this true? Can't i start with the anime and then go to the vn for ubw? If i can't the can i start with the anime for heavens feel and then go through the vn for hf ?
