Acceptance into 27 spring - US Veteran perspective

Hey everyone,

I was able to get accepted in the incoming semester with around a ~2.96 gpa at my most recent university.

I applied to this semester because it would give myself and my family the proper amount of time to prepare before moving to Japan and I think it would be less competitive. I was initially very worried due to the fact that not only I had a noncompetitive GPA but the fact that I also have been with around ~5 different universities. This is because I was traveling a ton during my time in the military or just life in general.

One thing I would like to mention is that I do have a previous degree and had to get waived to get accepted into my current bachelor's program for Japanese. I don't know if that really plays into it but I'm happy to get in.

So I mentioned ~2.96GPA at my current university, which is the one I returned to after finding proper work. Before this I graduated my previous university in IT with a 3.95 and I think that may have been a contributing factor in getting accepted.

I'll be attending TUJ via GI Bill receiving the monthly stipend / tuition taken care of. I'm extremely thankful for this since I sold my soul previously to the military. So if you're a veteran looking to do the same, it's certainly still possible here. I know many schools have phased out their GI Bill support in Japan due to some policy changes.

Look forward to seeing you guys in Spring!
