Just received the email. Says it will shut down within 30min.

Does anyone have the time, energy, patience, etc. to create and mod an alternative to this sub?

Personally, I would be willing to help out, but I don’t have the time, energy, patience, etc. to take on the responsibility of running a sub. I already have too many other commitments I have put first. Also, Reddit does my head in a lot of the time and I need to just stop looking at it for a month+ sometimes. You can’t do that if a subreddit is going to be unmoderated without you.

I don’t know how we find someone (or a few people) trustworthy for this, who won’t take on financial conflicts of interests, sockpuppet, behave tyrannically or capriciously, get drunk on power, get tilted at users and fly off the handle, etc. Ideally, it would be someone with an existing positive reputation on Reddit or in the private tracker community. Is there anyone out there who fits that description who would be willing to do this?

r/trackers2 is available, but that’s a pretty lame name, so I would hope someone can think of something better.

Edit #2: On second thought, the conflict of interest inherent in this is problematic.

Edit #3: A lot of people are not caught up on what's happening and want to see the evidence of wrongdoing by the main r/trackers mod. I did my best to compile all the evidence into one place in this comment.

What trackers have opened up for FNP refugees?

I know YS and A4K have but are there any others?

In light of recent tracker death-related news, cross seeding is now more needed than ever for certain refugees with new homes. What's your setup? Wanna talk about it? Any tips?

Been thinking about this lately.

A lot of (newer) tracker users obsess over content quantity, but the trackers I’ve stayed loyal to for years were never the biggest. They just had the best curation culture.

I’d take:

• consistent naming standards
• proper internals
• active request fills
• long-term seed retention
• forum users who actually know their stuff

over “900k torrents” any day.

Some of the trackers now honestly feel like giant cold warehouses. Huge libraries, zero identity.

Meanwhile smaller trackers with well-maintained uploads somehow still feel alive.

I'm currently a member of several high-quality trackers, but I've found the real content I consume most is:

• staff restructures
• moderator resignations
• passive-aggressive forum announcements
• "taking a break from the community" posts
• leaked IRC screenshots
• decade-long interpersonal feuds over encoding standards
• users with anime avatars writing 4,000 word manifestos

Requirements:

• good retention on meltdowns
• active userbase during staff coups
• shutdown notices measured in minutes, not days
• developers who bill for bespoke work and then ship it in the next public release
• moderators with undisclosed financial relationships to the communities they moderate
• sysops who leave for a competitor and somehow keep showing up in the comment section
• farewell emails that end with a Bitcoin address
• operators who refer to themselves in the third person in site-wide announcements
• infrastructure access held by people whose interests quietly stopped aligning about six months ago
• bonus points if Lifetime VIP was on sale within the last fortnight

I tried public trackers but the drama quality is too low and the users touch grass too often.

Any recommendations? Looking for something with BTN-tier curation but emotionally unstable.

Hey all, I want to join MAM.

I have a headless desktop which runs my normal torrents, and a laptop with which I access the desktop through google desktop.

Ideally I'd have the client run on the headless, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to do the interview on google desktop as it will be laggy and won't have a camera (feel free to point out that a camera is not necessary if that is the case, I have no idea but I assume it is).

But, if I just do it on the laptop, then the client will sit on the laptop which isn't ideal. Not sure if they will be ok with me installing another client on the headless and logging in there after the interview.

Am I overthinking this? What should I do?

I have been using nyaa but I specifically look for releases with dual audio tracks (original Japanese and English dub). It has 99% of what I want, but if it’s a less popular anime the specific releases I want actually being seeded is a toss up.

Private or public trackers

I have a few trackers. Some stuff I got and is only on fearnopeer.

Some stuff I have cross seeded to fearnopeer.

Some stuff I have from fearnopeer and is cross seeded elsewhere.

Can someone explain what I should do in this situation, I’m scared if i just start deleting stuff it is going to cause me problems.

Also what do I do about the stuff I could only get from FNP?

The tables below only include Curated General Movie and TV Trackers, as comparisons stop being meaningful at a certain point. To be included in the comparison they need to meet the following criteria:

1. International Content: Trackers that focus on specific languages or countries of origin for the content allowed on the site are excluded (for example AZ, ABN, and TS).
2. Slot System: Trackers that allow unlimited releases per title to coexist would skew the results too much (for example TL, SP, and FNP).
3. No Specific Niche: Trackers that focus on a specific niche within the broader category of Movies or TV are also excluded (for example KG, CG, and AB).

I have only included trackers that are widely considered Top and Mid tier in this subreddit. If you think a tracker should be on this list you can let me know in the comments. It should have at least as many Movie torrents as ANT or at least as many TV torrents as BLU, while also meeting all the other criteria. Please include the relevant stats.

For both Movie and TV I've ranked the trackers by the number of torrents. While I think unique titles are arguably more consistent for a direct comparison between trackers, HDB and MTV don't display that info, which prevents me from ranking the trackers this way.

What really stands out in this comparison is the enormous gap between PTP and BTN above the rest. For this reason I think they exist in a tier of their own. HDB is the undisputed #3, however, in this comparison they are much closer to any of the other trackers than they are to PTP and BTN. That being said, this is only one way of comparing trackers and it should by no means be used as an absolute ranking for how good trackers are.

Another thing that stood out to me was how close all of these trackers are in terms of unique TV titles (besides BTN). I don't know the numbers for HDB and MTV but I'd expect them to be not too far off either. Though, for older content there is still a higher chance of finding it on TVV than on the other trackers with similar stats.

Today I was checking out Netflix's videos to see the bitrate and codec they use and for most titles now they use av1. I checked out 15-20 movies, new and old and over 90% of those titles are using av1, bitrate was 1-2mbps but they look very good, not only good for their size but on they are on par if not better than other web-dls.
Some of them don't have proper grain and in those cases avc/hevc wins but 90%+ of NF av1 titles that I checked have perfect film grain.

Considering that HDD prices are skyrocketing, it makes sense to hoard these instead of other web-dls which are 7-11mbps bitrate (and encodes which can be 2-5mbps) assuming your device can play them which shoudnt be hard as almost all phone and PC can decode them and for TV's a $20 ONN Tv box can do the job as it has hardware decoder for av1.

Yes a bluray remux or 4k bluray would obv look better on big tvs but these NF av1 arent replacement for those, but replacement for other web-dls and encodes and its for those people who want to have like a 600 movies in high quality in only 1TB HDD.

I feel like donating to help out the scene (since I can't contribute with uploads, etc), but are there any trackers that have a lifetime donation perk?

hi im really new to this tracker and IRC stuff. i joined the RED irc and got in the queue, but i got kicked for idling. How the hell am i supposed to wait in a queue without going idle? i heard it takes days to weeks to get an interview - isnt idling inevitable? for context at first i was using the KDE konversation client, and now i switched to HexChat.

Are there any trackers besides the click sites that focus on courses and e-learning?

If somebody had access to thevault click, is it really worthed with up to date in demand courses or is it just overhyped? How does it compare to something like econolearn?

I created an account for thevault.click, I've been recently told the site had open signups and I decided to join, I've been aware it's one of those trackers notoriously difficult to get in, but boy I had no clue how much. I had an account for about 10 seconds, got immediately disabled, initially I thought I made some mistake on the signup, nevertheless I managed to get into their irc and it was an experience for the ages, I explained what happened and one of the members just says. "just leave don't waste my time". I asked what did he meant by that and then another member says I've been flagged for 6 multiple accounts and that I will be permanently banned from all their sites! I mean WTF is wrong with them? I've never had an account in any of their sites, but even so, that's no staff, no room for clarification, nothing, I asked what was wrong, because I had no idea what they were talking about and their solution, just banned me from irc, this isn't staff, they are bullies full of themselves. I can gladly say I'm an ex member of thevault.click for 10 seconds or less. What a joke!

As the title says, I'm looking for a tracker that is focused on K Drama (TV shows and movies). Must have: english subs.

I have a home server and fast fiber internet so seeding 24/7 is not a problem for me.

Don't bother, I was a long standing member then the site crashed and was offline for years, Now it's back..I had to rejoin..Then after not even being a member 30 days got kicked out for NO reason. Don't bother with these ASSHOLES! It's nothing like it was back in day! I was gonna donate to them too since I don't have anything I could post that meets their criteria but I will not donate to such a shitty site.
