Hello, I found this Tokay(my son named him Conner) on my dad's fence in downtown Sarasota, Florida. I know it's a longshot....if it's yours, I have it. It looks to have gotten intosome trouble but is healing, I hope. I see/hear these in the wild often here, although they are invasive. I have it in a makeshift terrarium (6gal Rubbermaid with half of a coconut husk, a cilantro plant, some water, and 1/2in metal grate on top 75F 64%RH). I caught a couple of small palmetto bugs from my compost pile and put them in there. It noticed them but did not eat them before the bugs hid. It has drank some water and is moving around. It seems comfortable just sitting on my fingers/hand and rode home like that while I drove one handed. Needless to say but, we have bonded a bit. Is there anything else I can do for this guy/gal as far as the habitat or wounds go tonight? I will be seeking veterinary help tomorrow

I was lucky enough to get a patternless female Tokay from a guy who prefers to sell Tokay Geckos that have good personalities, or seem ramble. She's a bit flighty, but she hasn't been aggressive , I was able to handle her pretty quickly, and although she tried running a few times and I had to retrieve her , I always made sure to not pick her up from above and to kind of scoop her or coax her onto my palm.

She hasn't tried to bite at all, and she calmed down after a while of me holding her , unless something Spooks her and then she tries to run. Add a few points when I was handling her she was waving her tail defensively , at a couple points I just lightly touched her tail when I made sure she wouldn't freak out , not grasping it at all and just hoping to show her that I'm not a predator.

I really want to be able to build a good trust with her , I already love her so much , I own a male tokay that was a rehome but the previous owner never had a chance to tame him down , so he's very defensive. Honestly if I'm able to handle the female regularly and have her feel calm while she's with me I'd be more than happy to work for that .

So I'd love to hear any advice or tips anyone can provide. I've heard Target Training can work for a tokay , I'd certainly love to know more if anyone has advice on that as well!

I just separated my female from the male because she was getting thinner. I finally get a good look at her and I am happy she is eating well. She got her yellow spots from her mom. I think just think she is pretty.

Help with increasing water

Went for a check-up today for my Chamoy and mild lethargy (from stress after medicating him with calcium) and my vet said he was dehydrated... I spray his enclosure 3x a day and have a water bowl full, so I don't know what more to do for him.

The vet said to shoot water down his mouth, but most the time now he runs when I open his enclosure and the stress has been affecting his health this last month.

Currently, I'm spraying him directly as much as I can before he runs but I wanted to see if anyone knew something else that worked. He won't lick up much on him.

Worth it??

About to pull the trigger on this pied tokay for $2500. I’ve never seen a color like this but would love to get a consensus! Thanks!
