MOOTS CINCO FOR SALE

Hello all-posted this a while ago and got fully (and deservedly) roasted. I'm a middle aged dad who used to ride a lot but doesn't anymore and didn't know how any of this worked. I'd love to sell this bike to get it out of my storage space and under someone who will love riding it. The frame is a medium, and just too small for me. I had a friend working for moots (now he builds beautiful bikes on his own, check out https://orchardbicycle.com/ ) and always wanted one, got a good price on this and I thought I could make it work, but I was wrong, and this thing has been languishing unused. If you're worried about it being stolen, by the time you purchase you will have my phone number, name (take a pic of my id if you want!), and serial for the bike. Feel free to give all that to the police if you find out the bike is stolen (it certainly isn't).

Components-

Avid elixir disc brakes and levers

Cross max stc wheels

Float rp23 rear

Fox talas front

SRAM gx 12x1 derailleur, cassette, and shifter

Chris king headset

Fsa carbon bars

$2500, but price is negotiable! Talk to me.

T47 Bottom bracket (thread) issue continues

Hi all,

Posting again as I have some more details and still not solved my issue with my new D printed Titanium frame I purchased from a manufacturer in China.

As you can see in the video, the T47 bottom bracket shell is very loose. I’ve tried two different SRAM T47 BBs and one from Shimano, they all have the same excessive play. In my experience, these should be a much snugger fit.

The second half of the video shows us attempting to tighten it to spec with a torque wrench. It "slips" in the threads, and immediately afterward, I can unscrew the cup with my bare fingers. It’s clear that the internal threading of the frame is out of tolerance. Strange thing it that sometimes it will torque but I don't think I can trust this. I don't want to be out riding and it comes loose.

I am in contact with the manufacture, and they’ve proposed making a "custom part" to resolve this. I’m struggling to see how a custom part fixes a stripped/worn or oversized internal thread.

If they provide a custom "fix," I won’t be able to use standard, off-the-shelf T47 bottom brackets in the future. I’ll be dependent on this manufacturer for replacements.

I paid for a new, functional frame, not one that requires a "hack" to meet basic standards.

I received the frame in December but due to travel and work, I didn't start the build until late March. Because I’m outside the first-month window, they are pushing the repair over a replacement. I had a cycling trip planned with this bike for this month (April) that is now not possible and I don't know when I will be able to eventually ride this bike. It's been going on for about 4 weeks already.

Since the frame is 3D printed, the BB shell can’t simply be cut out and replaced like a traditional Ti frame.

What would you do in this situation? Should I push for a full frame replacement (if at all even possible) despite the time elapsed, or is there a legitimate "custom part" fix for T47 shells that I’m not aware of?

Integrated bar/stem on externally routed ti frame?

I have a lynksey that has exterior routed cables, but I've been thinking about swapping my stem/handlebar for a one piece set up.

I really like how one piece bars have nice wide flat bar tops that make it super comfortable for me, though I'm not sure how silly it would look putting that type of bar/stem on a traditionally shaped ti bike.
