Any guesses?
I’m new to the group so hoping a breed guess is ok. What do we think?

Sammy has a perfectly good bed… but if there’s a sweatshirt that smells like me, that’s the only acceptable place to nap. Anyone else’s terrier like this? 🥹
Hey all ... Does anyone have any recommendations for pet insurance? I'm concerned that my 10lb dog is at a higher risk for impaction because she eats everything - MISC plastic on the ground, hair ties, pee pad, blankets, etc. I'm also worried because she is such a little dog, I think surgeries are more risky

Menaces the lot of them!

On April 14, my family and I were hopeful as we took our dog, Merida, in to get her teeth cleaned, hoping to finally relieve her pain. But things quickly took a turn for the worse.
She wasn’t given proper pain medication, and our concerns were ignored. Within days, she stopped eating, was vomiting, and became extremely weak. One night, she collapsed beside me and went into shock. We rushed her to the emergency vet, where we learned her gallbladder was leaking and she had developed a life-threatening infection.
After multiple emergency visits and being misled about getting urgent surgery, we finally found a clinic that acted fast and took her into surgery right away.
Right now, Merida is in the ICU recovering. The next 72 hours are very critical. We are holding onto hope and waiting for the day she can come home to us.
Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. We would be more than grateful for any donations—any support or shares truly mean everything to us. 🐾💔
I got to see Merida yesterday and today (sorry I forgot to post yesterday). Yesterday she wasn’t as active, but they were able to take her off her blood pressure medication.
Today was a big improvement—she was so much more active and even trying to jump out. They’ve now taken her off her heart meds and IV pain meds as well. The doctor said if everything continues to go well, she could come home Thursday or Friday.
Right now, they want her to start eating on her own. If she doesn’t eat today, they’ll start her on an appetite stimulant.
Me and my mom have been having a hard time falling asleep through all of this, but last night we came on here and read all your comments, and it really put us at ease. Thank you all so much for the support 💜
We’re feeling really hopeful, but we’re still not completely in the clear yet. If everything stays on track, she should be coming home Friday 💜
After 16 years in our lives, we have a hole. This is Morelli. He was our prince. He wasn’t doing great and let us know yesterday that it was time. He loved nothing more than the sunshine. He went out and enjoyed it and came back in and started having his last seizure. We know he waited until we were both home to do it so we could take him to the er together. The last pic is one my wife accidentally took and one of him prancing in the sun…his joy… was his last. I can’t believe I can’t pet or snuggle him anymore. We were so incredibly lucky to have accidentally found him at the shelter all those years ago. We had never had a dog and had no idea what we were doing. He had been a street dog and had no idea how to be around people. We certainly learned together to be a family. Morelli, you were the light of our lives and we will miss you always. Tuppies, your mama will wait for a sign that you’re being as naughty as ever for grandpa wherever you guys are together.
In retrospect, teaching her to jump into the hammock may have been a mistake.
He’s 8 lbs of pure ownership energy. Didn’t ask, just claimed the lap and settled in.
With less than 100 jagdterriers in our country, it was such a treat to meet another!!!
Squid meets Tora. Both are broken rough coat and chocolate.
No thoughts. Just criticism.
Be honest… is this a terrier thing or just mine?
My last dog was a Skye Terrier. A dog full of character and charm. And my next dog will be a Skye again. My trusted breeder knows that I’ll be taking a puppy from her litter this year.
The Skye Terrier is one of the endangered dog breeds. And I keep asking myself why? It can’t be because of their temperament, nor because they’re big dogs on short legs.
But I have a hunch as to why this brilliant dog breed isn’t as popular anymore: it’s their coat standard. When I look at the breed standard, all I see is long fur, almost floor-length. And every time, I think of “Pig-Pen” from Peanuts. The breed was once bred as a hunting dog, but the coat no longer gives any indication of its original purpose. If you follow the breed standard, the Skye looks more like a mop to me than a hunting dog.
I believe that a corresponding change to the breed standard regarding the coat will help the Skye survive as a dog breed and find new friends.
Am I the only one who thinks this way?
I got him last week. He’s 10 weeks old and a huge play biter.
