Best options for commuting with a dress shirt?

I commute to work, roughly 10 miles each way, 2 to 3 days a week. The commute means I’m too sweaty to not shower. What is the best way to transport a dress shirt on a tern gsd while also transporting a kid?

I have the large panniers on back and large front rack (transporter?)

Tradeoff: HSD S+ (gen 1) or HSD P10 (gen 2)??

Lusted after TERN for years, finally buying my first! Also first mid drive! - I've got about US$4K - give or take $500, to spend. 66 year old guy, fitness, errands, pleasure. Love belt drive + IGH idea, for simplicity & less bike shop time. Found a local S+ at $3700. Ticks all the specs, and I love the idea of automatiq. Concerns are ongoing support (but it is Bosch), plus I'm a tech fan. New Gen 2 w/belt (S00, S5i) are out of budget. But P10 w/derailleur fits & I can add converter for GPS & Flow app. Or go with P10 and live w/derailleur (I've never had IGH before). I need advice & voice of experience here. I hear IGH doesn't shift under load well, some say they're mushy. I love ability to shift at a stop if I forget. Anyone out there with experience with Enviolo, Automatiq or otherwise, as well as the Shimano 5 and 8 IGH hubs as compared to derailleur setups? So many questions, I've learned just enough to be dangerous! TIA, Mike.

Gen1 derailleur model?

The lower pulley is really stiff … is this user replaceable? I’m not sure what model Deore this is to get a replacement. Any help appreciated!

Need help figuring out where this bolt goes.

This bolt fell off my tern gsd (gen 3) when I stood it up and I'm curious if anyone knows where it might go? Can't seem to find a place for it.

Hi all,

I'm torn between these two for daily commute with two kids (6yo + 1.5 yo) around Bristol, UK. Also, looking at cycling for longer distances, within the double battery range. For those familiar, the area is plenty hilly.

Belt drive is out of question, but still not sure if I should go for the Enviolo hub or gen R14 all factors considered.

Any advice appreciated.

Edited: I found them for about the same price £5900 vs £6200

Looks like Bosch will make more torque available with a software upgrade, but at the same power output. Seems mostly to be because of Avinox.

I have a gen2 S00 and have been happy with performance of the motor as is, even loaded on the hills I need to ride (up to 14%).

Will you upgrade the motor? How do you expect it will change your experience on the bike?

Usually I lock up my GSD R14 bike with a heavy Litelock in addition to the Abus cafe lock/chain when I’m out and about but yesterday I had just a few relatively quick stops in populated areas so I only used the cafe lock with chain. When I got home and went to lock up my bike in the garage I saw that the whole mudguard/fender (sorry I don’t know the correct terminology is) was loose and there was a screw missing. Also the screw on the side was loose. Was this someone trying to unscrew the whole thing to steal the bike or is it possible it was loose for a while and fell out? Also is there anything else missing that I should know about?

Please don’t judge how dirty my bike is, I know I need to give it a good spring wash. And I’ll leave it fully locked up from now on!

I was having issues with my Bosch system, the batteries were fully charged but the Purion display on my Gen 2 GSD S10 wasn't turning on, thus not sending a wake up signal to the batteries.

After a firmware reset, and replacing the CR2016 batteries in the display, (and still motor not turning on) I took off this motor housing cover to check connections... and revealed this disgusting cache of debris. This picture really doesn't do it justice.

Full context, I ride year-round in Michigan so I have my share of shitty road conditions. Sometimes slush would accumulate outside the motor but I would always wipe it off. But clearly road grime is finding its way in there.

How often do others who ride in winter conditions clean out the motor housing? Any preventative measures I can take, even DIY hacks? Anything else I'm overlooking on this critical area/potential fail point of the bike? Thanks in advance for any insights!

It definitely seems to be a loose connection as when I wiggle the wires I get intermittent light flickering on. Is there anything to be done? Is it worth opening the two screws at the rear and seeing if the cable is properly seated?
