Applied/ Emailed 50+ Data/Cloud Jobs (in data releted companies), Almost No Replies

Hi everyone,

I’m a Computer Engineering graduate from Nepal (final result pending) currently working in a trainee role related to data. The problem is from past 2 weeks there’s basically no actual work. I spend most of the day sitting idle and feel like I’m learning nothing useful.

Because of that, I started applying aggressively to data analytics, BI, cloud, and junior data engineering roles. I’ve emailed/applied to 50+ companies over the last few weeks and only got 1 response. Most companies don’t even reject me — just complete silence.

now i am starting to pitch directly to HR of those companies through linkedin still they connect but ignore my msg only the maitri services one replied me

My current skills/background:

  • Python (Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib)
  • SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL)
  • Power BI
  • AWS EC2/S3/IAM
  • Linux & SSH
  • Some deployment, analytics experience
  • Built projects around sports analytics, population data analysis, and a deep learning pneumonia detection model

At my current internship/trainee role, I’ve also worked with:

  • AWS EC2 deployments and S3
  • data cleaning and management
  • dashboard/reporting workflows
  • public demographic/election datasets

I know I’m still entry-level, but I honestly expected more than a ~2% response rate.

So I wanted to ask:

  • Is the entry-level data/cloud market this difficult right now?
  • Are recruiters expecting stronger portfolios/GitHub projects?
  • what am i doing wrong ?

Any advice from people already working in data/cloud/devops would really help. I genuinely want to improve and grow, but the combination of no work + no responses is getting frustrating.

Thanks.

Final Year Projects in AI/ML

I had considered fake news detection as my final-year project, but my professor said it is a minimal project and asked me to think about other topics. I am a final-year IT student from Nepal and want to undertake a project that contributes to the current scenario. But I am not able to explore more topics.

So, I am here to know what problems have been faced so that I can contribute a little through my project in the real world.

Electric Vehicles in Nepal: Why the EV Revolution is Just Beginning

Nepal’s automobile market is going through one of the biggest transformations in its history. A few years ago, petrol and diesel vehicles dominated the roads. Today, electric vehicles (EVs) are rapidly becoming the first choice for many Nepali consumers.

From the busy streets of Kathmandu to long highway routes connecting major cities, EVs are no longer a futuristic concept — they are now a major part of Nepal’s transportation reality.

Nepal’s EV Market is Growing Faster Than Ever

Nepal has emerged as one of the fastest-growing EV markets in South Asia. Recent reports show that electric vehicles now account for a major share of newly imported passenger vehicles in the country.

This shift is being driven by several factors:

* Rising petrol and diesel prices

* Government tax incentives for EV imports

* Lower running costs

* Growing environmental awareness

* Improved charging infrastructure

* Availability of affordable Chinese EV brands

Brands like BYD, MG Motor, Tata Motors, and other EV manufacturers have significantly changed consumer preferences in Nepal.

Why EVs Make Sense in Nepal

  1. High Fuel Prices Make Petrol Vehicles Expensive

Nepal imports all of its petroleum products. Because of this, fuel prices remain unstable and expensive for average consumers.

EV owners can save a significant amount annually compared to petrol vehicle owners due to lower electricity costs and reduced maintenance expenses. ([EV News Nepal][2])

For daily commuters in cities like Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur, EVs have become a practical financial decision rather than just an environmental choice.

Nepal Has a Unique Advantage: Hydropower

One major reason Nepal is ideal for EV adoption is electricity production.

Unlike many countries that rely heavily on coal or fossil fuels, Nepal generates most of its electricity from hydropower. This means EVs in Nepal are not only cheaper to operate but also significantly cleaner for the environment. ([Leapmotor Nepal][3])

This creates a strong opportunity for Nepal to reduce dependence on imported fuel while utilizing domestic energy resources.

Charging Infrastructure is Expanding Rapidly

One of the biggest concerns people had about EVs was charging availability. However, Nepal’s charging infrastructure is improving quickly.

Recent reports indicate that the country now has more than 1,000 charging stations nationwide, with additional stations under construction.

Charging stations are increasingly available across:

* Kathmandu Valley

* Pokhara

* Chitwan

* Birgunj

* Major highways and travel corridors

Private companies and the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) are actively investing in expanding the network.

Government Support is Driving the EV Boom

The Government of Nepal has introduced favorable policies to encourage EV adoption.

These include:

* Lower import taxes on EVs

* Incentives for electric mobility

* Plans to expand charging stations nationwide

* Long-term sustainability goals

Government targets aim to significantly increase EV adoption by 2030.

These policies have made EVs more financially attractive than many traditional petrol vehicles.

Challenges Still Exist

Despite rapid growth, Nepal’s EV market still faces several challenges.

Limited Charging Access in Remote Areas

Most charging stations are concentrated in urban regions, making long-distance travel in remote districts more difficult.

Skilled Technicians Are Limited

As EV technology grows, Nepal still needs more trained EV technicians and service centers.

Battery Concerns

Many buyers still worry about:

* Battery lifespan

* Resale value

* Replacement costs

However, recent discussions and market trends suggest that popular EV models in Nepal are maintaining strong resale value.

Changing Consumer Mindset

Earlier, buying a vehicle in Nepal was mainly about brand image and engine performance. Today, consumers are focusing more on:

* Running cost

* Technology

* Sustainability

* Smart features

* Long-term savings

EVs are increasingly viewed as modern, premium, and future-ready vehicles.

The Future of Nepal’s Automobile Industry

The future of Nepal’s automobile market is clearly electric.

With growing infrastructure, government support, rising fuel costs, and increasing public awareness, EV adoption is expected to continue accelerating over the next decade.

Nepal has the opportunity to become a regional leader in sustainable transportation by fully utilizing its hydropower resources and expanding electric mobility nationwide.

The shift has already begun — and there is no turning back.

Conclusion

Electric vehicles are no longer just an alternative in Nepal; they are becoming the mainstream choice.

While challenges such as infrastructure and service networks still need improvement, the current market scenario strongly indicates that Nepal is moving toward an electric future.

For consumers, businesses, and the country as a whole, EVs represent more than just a new type of vehicle — they represent a smarter, cleaner, and more economical way forward.

What is this behavior, Daraz?

Delivery charge inside ringroad varies from 95-170 for this specific product whose actual price is only 70. The interesting catch for this below item is - it says free delivery and then add 95 right after one page.

What is your experience with daraz?
