My first Swatch, a gift from my family in 1987, was an expensive watch for them at the time. Despite its cost, I was captivated by its beauty and was given it.

I've always cherished it, even though it's no longer functional and the case is broken, I keep it as a precious memory.

I recall that it wasn't widely available in jewelry stores. I had a hard time finding it. It's amusing to learn that this particular model is quite sought after when it's in working condition.

Hey! My brother gave me this watch and I think it’s a Swatch SAK119 from 1995. The case is dead and I don’t know if it can be repaired. Obviously it’s an automatic watch and the dial is beautiful.

Anyone know if It can be repaired? I have no experience repairing and operating on watches so I would have to take it to a professional.

Any recs are appreciated!

I gave up my Apple Watch. I originally got a Casio A158, but I got this today and I am in love.

Whilst the dog was having his haircut last week I had a look around a weird antique shop and found this Halloween 2001 Loomi Mummia in its original packaging. It wasn’t working so I got a discount and paid £75 for it. A new battery and it works like a charm. I hadn’t ever seen one before so couldn’t leave it behind at that price.

I love this watch which is absolutely minimalist. The matte rendering of the bracelet and the case is very beautiful.

The long phosphorescent hands, the simplicity of the number font and the little touch of yellow color are perfect.

Strange that it didn't stay longer in the catalog so it's basic.

No idea the model but I do love the back coloring of the numbers.

I just stumbled over my old Swatch Access "Comin' Thru" (SKK105). I’ve held onto it all these years because my parents bought it for me when I was 12 (back in 1998) in Brig, Switzerland. It was my absolute dream watch because of that "high-tech" Ski Pass feature.

I still have the original case and all the paperwork, but the watch has been sitting in a drawer for over 20 years. A Swatch shop told me years ago that it’s "unrepairable" because the case is ultrasonically welded.

Today I learned about the "dried-up oil" issue. I gave it a gentle warming with a hairdryer, and it actually started ticking again! However, it’s still struggling—it runs for a few minutes, stops, and then needs another "kickstart." I’m currently wearing it to see if my body heat can help redistribute the old lubricants.

My question to the community: Should I keep trying to revive it, throw it away or is there still a market for this? I don't want it to sit in a drawer for another 20 years, but throwing it away feels like a crime given the nostalgia and the condition.

Any advice or similar experiences with the SKK series?
