What is this Sting song?

I don't know any Sting beyond what I've overheard in public places. What is the one where he sings something like "she's lonely, she's lonely" over and over? One his uptempo hit songs, or maybe it's not even a Sting song? It's really stuck in my head after hearing it two days ago at a sports game

Fantastic show at Chastain in Atlanta

Sting really wowed the crowd Friday night in Atlanta. Even he commented on how great Chastain Amphitheater is as a venue, and he totally rocked it for over two hours nonstop. Epic show!

🎶"Black Balloon"🎶 is a song by American 🇺🇲 rock band Goo Goo Dolls. It was released in June 1999 as the fourth single from the band's sixth studio album, Dizzy Up the Girl 📀 (1998), and reached No. 3 in Canada 🇨🇦, No. 16 in the United States 🇺🇲, and No. 23 in Iceland 🇮🇸.

The song, according to lead singer John Rzeznik 🎙, is based on a woman who is struggling with a heroin addiction and her lover who is desperately trying to save her. He has also said that it is about "seeing someone you love that is so great just screw up so bad." Speculation had it that the specific person the song was based on was the ex-wife of bassist Robby Takac; she died of a heroin overdose.

Like many other songs by Goo Goo Dolls, 🎶"Black Balloon"🎶 uses an unusual alternate tuning. Several electric guitars used in the introduction and the acoustic rhythm guitar are tuned to an open D-flat fifth chord. It was half-stepped on the album version.

The track reached 📈 No. 13 and No. 28 on the US Billboard Modern Rock Tracks and Mainstream Rock Tracks charts, respectively.🎶"Black Balloon"🎶 was the band's first commercially released single in the US since 🎶"Name"🎶 in 1995, reaching No. 16 on the Billboard Hot 💯 with its combined sales and airplay figures. In Canada 🇨🇦, the song reached No. 3 on the RPM 💯 Hit Tracks chart, giving the Goo Goo Dolls their fourth top-three hit there.Outside North America, the song charted in Iceland 🇮🇸 and the United Kingdom 🇬🇧, reaching No. 23 in the former country and No. 76 in the latter.

The video 🎬 opens with a woman blowing smoke into a soap bubble. It then moves into showing scenes from a 1950s era swim club while the band performs the song. The video was directed 📽 by Nancy Bardawil.

Current tour - opening act?

If you’ve been to a Sting 3.0 show in the past few weeks and could share 1) was there an opening band and 2) length of Sting performance, I’d be grateful. Going tonight, and no information has been provided

EDIT: 5/12 show started 8:15-ish and was over around 10:15 (a little before noise curfew). No opening band. Fantastic show!

Houston Concert Tonight

Going tonight on my own. Been to about 9 Sting performances since my mom got me hooked as a kid. If anyone is going and wants to nerd out before the concert, lmk! Would love to get a small group together for a pre-show dinner.

I ended up driving Sting’s band home after a gig

So last week I went to see Dominic Miller play a tiny basement jazz club in Chelsea — The 606 Club, about 100 people in the room. For those who don’t know it, it’s been running since the 1970s and it’s one of those places where genuinely great musicians play in an almost uncomfortably intimate setting.
Misty Miller (his daughter) guested on vocals, Jason Rebello was on piano — another Sting band alumni who replaced Kenny Kirkland back in 1998 — and I randomly bumped into Jeremy Stacey in the crowd too.
Then at the end of the night I somehow ended up giving Dominic, Misty, Jason and Jeremy lifts home. Still can’t quite believe that happened.
