Temptation got to me

Temptation got to me

I am selling my a7iv to adorama and some old lenses from when I had my a6000. Getting the A7V, tried it out at their Sony on the road event they are having, excited to see what's new.

Do you all think it's worth the upgrade from the a7iv?

I was contemplating on selling it myself but it's hard to sell a used camera, most people would rather buy from reliable secondary markets like adorama or keh

Slight lens movement on brand new a7iv

Hi, I received a brand new a7iv a few days ago. I am noticing a slight wiggle with all my lenses (shown in the video). Is this normal? It happens when the camera is switched both on or off.

I have an old a7ii and it doesn't happen with that camera.

Any advice appreciated!

Sony a6700 or used Sony a7iii/a7riii

Hello everyone. I currently have sony a6000 and looking to upgrade. I am still in the beginner phase/learning still. I'm looking at either a Sony a6700 or used a7ii/a7riii. Maybe a7riv if price right used. I currently have 2 aspc lenses and tamaron 150-500. What would be the best option. Also if I do go full frame. Using aspsc lenses on full frame be ok? Or cause major issues in quality? Thanks. Attaching some photos for reference

Stolen

Someone stole my camera bag with my a7iii I just got 3 months ago and worked so hard for… I had everything in there, all my gear, including my MacBook I got a few months back too.
I’m just a student that loves video and I’m lost for words now… it’s the worst feeling. It’s like someone took a part of me.
Just to say please be extra extra careful with everything and everywhere you bring your (I thought I was, but it clearly wasn’t enough), we live in a crazy world. I wouldn’t wish this feeling to my worst enemy.
And if anyone’s selling a camera or something, let me know please, I had so much plans this summer I don’t want to give up on.

does this cam+lens set even make sense?

Massive dilemma

I want to buy one of the sets for everyday use .

I shot video blog in a studio for courses and social content .

And occasional studio shots of my family or outdoors photos or portraits of family .

I am thinking between the two cameras and two lenses

Sony a7cii + Sony 20-70 F4 to keep the size compact and small

Sony A7IV + Sigma 24-70 DN II ART F2.8 to keep the balance in size and lens

I am usually never use wide or low focal length .

I don’t like how faces look like on small focal length

I often don’t go below 35mm

I do like shallow depth of field , but not too much .

I was us g before Sony A7SII + Tamroon 28-75 F2.8 was enough .

I do care about sharpness and image quality for photo and video (blogging and podcasts)

Questions

Does A7CII really overheat with long videos or this was fixed already ? I don’t use the view finder anyway and I don’t need the 2 card slots . The only reason I was looking at the A7IV is due to posts of overheating for 1+ hour recording .

I will have zoom calls with camera on as webcam for 2-3 hours for sure

Does sigma is too big for A7CII that it feels weird and gigantic ?

Where I live there is no option to go to shop to try , I’m ordering online blindly

I had A7SII before with tamroon 28-75 it was OK size

I was thinking of going smaller , but it not a must .

Any opinions ?

Thanks !!!

Best settings for A7IV

Hey everyone,
I have been learning videography for the past few months focusing on hospitality focused short format videos.

So example would be, bts, cooking, food shots, chef talking videos, a mix but mainly towards tiktok/insta.

I have been struggling to find the right balance as this is my first camera.

I use figma 24-70 2.8 and sony 50 1.8
25fps - shutter 1/50
PP11 s-cinetone
Zebra crossing on
XAVC S 4K

I do feel like something is missing or I could do better but im kind of stuck, specially with my iso usage.
Any tips on how I can improve and do better interms of quality and colours.

Thank you
