Finding Friends in Sonoma

I'm a married 53 yo that move to Sonoma proper 2.5 years ago and have found it extremely hard to make friends and create community. Can people tell me why it's been so hard in this area? And how I could have better luck? Thx

Applications for Petaluma Library Advisory Board!

Hey folks! I'm Robin, Petaluma's Library Commissioner, and I'm pleased to share that we've opened applications for the Petaluma Library Advisory Board (LAB)! The application deadline is April 30.

The LAB is a body of community members who do outreach and advocate for the library, and provide feedback and suggestions to the library. Most of the members are within city limits, but up to two may be located outside of city limits.

Responsibilities include:

  • 6 LAB meetings a year
  • Choose at least one of:
    • Attend 2 outreach events a year
    • Participate in a subcommittee
    • Lead a subcommittee

If folks are even moderately curious, let me know and I'm happy to answer questions :)

More info and application details are at: https://sonomalibrary.org/visit/locations/petaluma/lab

Sonoma Recs - hotel/wineries

Hi! I’ve been to Napa three times. I’ve stayed in Napa twice and Yountville once. We just figured it would be nice to try another area.

We were thinking Sonoma but after doing a little research today I’m second guessing if I should find accommodations in Sonoma or somewhere else like Healdsburg? I found a few hotels near the square but is that a good location?

We are red wine drinkers and that will be the focus of the trip so we will be looking to do wine tastings. We’d like to keep the room costs to no more than $500/night. We’d like to go in late August or November. Although we’d be open to September. Any recommendations for accommodations? I’m also always open to winery recommendations.

Looking for a group wine tour (not private driver).

I have tried to look through this sub so that I didn’t have to post, but everything is about single a winery tour or private drivers. I’m coming with a friend (both in our 40s), and we “ain’t rich,” so we’d like to do some type of bus or trolly tour with a small group. We are staying in downtown Sonoma. We are interested in a tour that stops at 3 wineries & picks us up & drops us off in Sonoma.

Not sure it matters but just in case- I prefer red wines. She drinks both.

Thank you!!!! 😊

Motorcycle Unloading Santa Rosa

Anyone know of a loading dock or anything in Santa Rosa I can unload this at? I need to get it out of this rental truck, I’m by myself, and don’t have a ramp. Any suggestions appreciated. I did call the Harley dealer they didn’t want to help which was weird cause I was going to buy stuff from them but 🤷‍♂️
