Burton Cruise (1989)

Morning lads! I just got gifted this board and for the age it's in great condition. I just cleaned it up, trimmed the edges and waxed it... I would like to ride it just once! Are there any bindings made today that fit this hole pattern? And what kind of pattern is it, anyway?!

Bindings Talk: 2 Strap Suck, Change To Rear Entry Bindings??

Maybe someone can relate? I really need some feedback and experience on the matter for next season.

I've been riding 2 strap bindings forever.

But have anyone else also noticed that the ankle strap tend to loosen?

When you go like 85-90k or even slower and do a little ollie over a bump and land i bit hard, it can loosen. Or if you do a turn and there's a bump so that strap gets a lot of energy it also can loosen

Or when landing example BS 1 or 5 and you land a bit too much on your toe edge, it can loosen.

Or just going over the sweet spot on the big jump and land a bit hard, it can loosen.

Or doing jibbs on the side or a strong FS turn even with small speed it also can loosen.

So I've been thinking, maybe a rear entry binding will eliminate that problem, since the anke strap on those bindings are much more solid and can handle more energy?

I've never actually ridden one, but I imagine it's more solid on the straps.

Whats your experiences / thoughts?

I need a binding that can absorb the heavy energy without straps loosening.

Is the binding I'm looking for out there?

Thanks for all feedback.

Find the ideal pass for next season...

I built a tool that asks 5 simple questions about your skiing habits and recommends the best pass for you:

- Where you're based

- How many days you'll ski

- Which resorts you prefer

- Budget range

- Pass restrictions you can/can't live with

It compares 90+ passes including Epic, Ikon, Indy, Mountain Collective, and tons of regional options. With early bird deadlines coming up (Epic: April 14, Ikon: May 19), figured this might help some folks make the call.

Link: skiatlas.com/passes

It's completely free - no login required, no email capture, just answer the questions and get a recommendation. Would genuinely love feedback on what's useful vs what's missing. Planning to add trip planning tools and resort guides next.

Help with never summer boards and expectations of the profiles

Currently riding an eiki pro lobster. I ride exclusively west coast and mostly park but like to go explore the whole mountain

Been looking for an upgrade and wonder if anyone has ridden the llama or proto slinger and can tell me what they feel like, ive been looking at these boards and been wondering how their camber profile feels and which one i should get and if never summers boards are a good investment because ive only ridden capita and and old forum board.

Is this a good snowboard model?

I am trying to use Blender to create a 3D character that I can move to explian on frame how to do tricks on a snowboard.

I was usinig a stickman figure before, but it is more limited and i think the new model is a bit more cool to watch and from more angles.

I wanna know what do you guys think!

I got bored this weekend, created a snowboard selector app and trip planner.

I'm a newbie snowboarder, got frustrated with trying to find all the snowboard that work for me since I'm 240lbs, ended up writing an app to help you.

https://www.strangeness.org/

I then added a trip finder page with all the resorts and a scoring system to tell you what resorts should be good for snowboarding.

Feedback welcome, see what you think.

Why your friends are getting better faster than you at snowboarding

Just a few simple things that helped me (and people I teach) progress faster.

Most people get stuck not because they can’t do the trick, but because they skip steps or overthink it.

Still working on this idea, but trying to make progression a bit clearer.

Ski trip to Japan

Me and my buddy are looking to do a trip to Japan next season. We have the Indy pass and were looking at Rusutsu for a couple of days and then hopping around Niseko. Any tips? We'd like to keep the trip for under 3000 for about 7 days of skiing, January 18-29. Would it be cheaper to stay in an airbnb? Hotel? Not nightlife people, would like to see some of the culture in our free time. Flying out of Boston Logan if that helps. Thanks!
