Can I reuse this piston if I put new rings on it?
I have this Toro mower and now for some reason, the sprocket doesn’t rise up to engage the motor when I try to start it. The starter motor still spins, but the sprocket is not spinning the motor because it is resting in its lower position.
I am just wondering if it is connected to the clutch or the brake, or if a spring is missing or broken, I am just not sure what the mechanism is to lift that sprocket up.
I am able to get the motor started by forcing the sprocket upwards with a screwdriver, but it is tedious each time I want to start the mower. Any help appreciated, thanks!
Broke off a tap inside valve threads. Having hard time removing. Tried tapping with a screwdriver to turn it reverse but no movement. Tried screw removal tool but having hard time creating a center hole in whatever this tap is made of? Any tips before I create more damage? Lol
What would cause this? I have a new battery. I replaced the carburetor at the end of the season last year. I also changed the spark plug, fuel line and filter from the tank to the motor.
Thanks for any help in advance!
Please help me out i’m just a girl trying to mow her lawn!!!
It died on me while mowing and will crank but won’t turn over even when playing with the choke.
I cleaned out the carburetor and solenoid (sprayed wd40) even thought it looked clean. I do hear that “click” when I turn the key.
I ran jumper gambles from my car for about 15 minutes so battery should be charged (it’s only about 1.5 years old)
I tried to take out the spark plug but I think it’s heat-fused and won’t come out and I don’t want to fight it if you don’t think that’s the problem.
It has brand new gas in it.
Air filter is clean and it won’t start even when i remove the filter.
PS don’t mind my dogs they like to bark at the mower
I’m repairing a couple Gravely Pro Turn 260s. It looks like one as a Kohler and one has a Kawasaki engine.
Both have high hours on the engines.
Normally I use 10w-40 for summer mowing in mowers but I see online it says some people recommend 20W-50 for the Gravelys. What are your thoughts?
I recently just purchased a John Deere E120 with the easy change oil system. I would like to get rid of it. What are the parts needed to? I have attached the model type and code for the Briggs engine.
Thank you
I am not good with engines, but this is a repeat problem. Last summer I had a similar problem that I ended up just throwing it on a trickle charger and a few days later it kicked on and ran for the season. A few days ago I tried to start and got this same problem. I then put it on a trickle charger for 36 hours and am getting a stronger turn but it still won't start up. The weird rubber bandy sound has me worried. What are your thoughts?
I've been working on a wacker neuson roller compactor with a Honda GX630 on it. It runs great for about 30 minutes then the fuel in the filter gets lower and lower till it dies. I've put a new fuel pump and spark plugs, replaced all the fuel lines and vacuum lines and the oil sensor. It is still having the same problem any advice.
So when started the engine will run great for about 15 min then will begins to loose power. Will run to around 20 min then shut off completely. It will not restart even with starting fluid. I changed the carb and it is the same issue. Any good ideas on things to check. Can a bad magneto cause this
trying to get the most of a carburetor replacement for tiller. Looking for tips how to give the new one tune up. It is running now but doesn't seem high enough RPM and I don't have access to a low screw if there is one. (and yeah that screw is not out like that on the replacement it was just out to show reference) thanks in advance
this craftsman ht2200 just son me halfway done with a yard, the string will pull out like 6 inches and then stops and won't turn anything. took it apart all the way down to this little bell on the shaft so I can take the plastic front cover off. figured I'd turn to reddit and see if yall can help.
I have got a free snowblower that went through a small fuel fire. The carb seems to be toast but I’m new to this so I don’t k ow enough yet to know for sure. I tried looking it up and getting a new one but I couldn’t find any that looked the same. Any help would be appreciated. The engine says 12A492 0110 E1

Had a hard time finding a cheap aftermarket replacement to have on hand for Kawasaki fj180v BS18 engine so decided to rebuild it myself. Just wanted to verify, is the marked part the high needle adjustment screw? What do the upper and lower limits do? (CCW vs CW)
Machine starts but seems fuel is choked out and fails quickly. Carb was in horrible shape when I acquired it.
Takes a while to start, I let it warm up then it’ll die under full throttle, half throttles fine but full will kill it no matter how slowly I transition to it. I assume it’s a tune issue, any other suggestions though. Spark arrested looks clean.
Please see the attached pics. I don't have a ton of free time with a busy life right now but I promised my wife's grandpa I would post online with a chance someone may know. He took his carb apart for his Toro push mower and while doing so didn't note the gasket order upon removal...and truthfully I have never worked on a push mower. Any ideas or help on how the gasket order should go? Thanks in advance for any help.
Mower had low oil would die at low speed now after adding oil it seems to run better but has ticking noise?
