My band Moro released our first single today. (FFO: Envy, Kidcrash, La Dispute)

Hey!

We’ve been working on our album over the past 2 years and it’s finally close to release. Biggest influences are Envy and Kidcrash. Our sound has elements of skramz, post rock, post metal, and hardcore.

About Skramz's Lyrics

Good evening. I’m Japanese and I absolutely love Skramz from overseas.
However, when it comes to the lyrics, I feel like there’s quite a bit of bias. It seems to me that Skramz’s lyrics often follow stories where a protagonist with a loving heart falls in love with someone and then experiences loss. And the phrase “I love you” comes up a lot.
I’m looking for elements like a protagonist who can’t love others, or a protagonist who is loved and obsessed over by others. Are there any Skramz songs with lyrics like this? Also, are there any songs that don’t follow the typical storylines mentioned above?

Chicago Screamo Band Looking for Drummer

Hello for the past few months I have been working on writing songs with a buddy I met at a local diy show and since then we have found a rhythm guitarist and a bassist. We have written several songs which I think are very good but we cannot find a drummer I know a few however those 2 are both are in very popular local bands. I’m a vocalist if I were to describe our sound it’s kind of emoviolence/sasscore/blues kinda if anyone knows any drummers in the Chicago area looking for something to do just let me know (if anyone is interested I will send some clips and what not)

Funniest shit that I've experienced ever

Ik this has nothing to do with y'all but I had to share ts with someone. I just painted a Funeral Diner shirt yesterday. Well, my mom saw it today. Mf I had just woke up at 4 AM and she started going on about why emo stuff is the cause I'm suicidal. I did not understand a word she said I was too asleep but apparently she says that I shouldn't listen to that and she's gonna take my phone away or sum to protect me when she hasn't even taken me to a psychologist in my whole LIFE since I was born. She thinks emo is the only thing I listen to and the only ever reason things are like that and that I'd only have a reason to be depressed if my parents did drugs or if they abused me (they do) or some shit like that SON 😭😭😭 do you understand how much I've been trying not to laugh

So one day I was cleaning my pencils while being a bit high and I remember seeing this drawing in an album cover on a YouTube so I decided to draw it cause I found it cool, but now I can’t remember which album or band it was, I’ll appreciate any lead

Would you consider Vs Self a type of skramz band? Or something alternative or other? Also, I’d like some recommendations for new bands!

Fortress cassette release (x-blouse) w/ Silk, Wince, & VLQ this Friday in Ridgewood (NYC)

C86’d DIY Vol. 19: Fortress’ cassette release with Silk, Wince & the Vince Lombardi Quintet !

FORTRESS (members of Blouse) released their debut EP “who will dress our soldiers?” late last year and we are honored to be bringing it to the cassette format! Somewhere between the Touch And Go noise rock of the early 90’s and the basement emo we all love, Fortress really brings a sound of their own. Noise vignettes, nonchalant vocals, melodic undercurrents, and an unsettling angular angst are just a few of the flavors Fortress conjures up in every track.

Who better to join them than their NYC besties SILK! Seeing this band evolve their sound over the years has been so incredible with every performance showcasing a new take on their sound. You know them, you love them, you always want to see them!

A band that came onto our radar a few years ago with their full length release, WINCE is truly like no other. Weird classical stylings mixed and mashed up with an almost shoegaze atmosphere, creates a style of noise rock that we’ve been dying to see live!

Kicking off the night, the “working class sass” of THE VINCE LOMBARDI QUINTET (members/xmems of Ultra Deluxe, Mineshaft, Auxiena Saint, more) will kick you in the teeth and make you laugh at the same time. Dance punk that got so messed up by the San Diego scene that we aren’t sure what happened!
