my wife was getting on at me to go through my sh!t and I found these two. so, you're probably wondering how do you forget you own stuff and the thing is twenty years ago I was ripping a lot of CDs and I was also downloading files from blogs and forums so at this point I look at my collection of files and if I don't remember buying it I assume I downloaded it.

Actress CHRISTINA HENDRICKS Played THE STONE ROSES and THE VERVE During Four-Hour DJ Set.
On April Fools Day, actress Christina Hendricks announced she would be DJing at the San Diego bar Part Time Lover - except it wasn't a joke. The "Mad Men" star danced and sang throughout her four-hour set, which included a collection of what she described as "shoe pop dream gaze" hits.
Among the many songs Hendricks played were The Stone Roses'

Anyone else a little tired of grungegaze? (I’m sorry for being negative:P)
I really like Julie and Modern Color, and I like pre chameleon Trauma Ray, but a lot of these other guys like Narrow Head, Third Chain, Soul Blind are really starting to bother me. Specifically it feels like they’re all the same. Nearly all the songs have the same structure or chord progression!
I loved this stuff when I first got into shoegaze a few years ago, but now I can’t help but feel like someone did something that worked and went viral, and everyone is copying that formula. It doesn’t work for me as I feel like shoegaze was built on constant sonic experimentation, and grunge with reverb doesn’t really speak to me as experimentation anymore.

the lights flicker. all systems offline. hes floating out here now. he accepts there’s no hope for him anymore. as he drifts out here, he wonders if it was worth it. was his journey meaningful?

this is a demo of one of my songs off a future album from my solo project called “Not Much, Only Everything”. i started making this song when i was 16 after playing for ~8 months, all i got done back then was the intro, now 2 years later its nearly finished. im very proud of it and i hope it isnt “basic”.

Why did shoegaze become clumped together with grunge & other genres?
I understand that genres are never truly contained boxes, but it seems like in the past 3-5 years or so, shoegaze really blew up in popularity. Along with that, more bands were clumped under the genre that originally were more considered grunge, like Deftones, Smashing Pumpkins, and Hum. Is this just because of the distorted guitar tones? Because to me, those bands are very different from My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, LSD etc. (these are what I think of more as shoegaze) What are your thoughts on the shoegaze-ification of rock music in the past few years?

Newly forming shoegaze/dreampop/postpunk inspired project in Hartford looking to write and record layered/melodic/atmospheric guitar based originals is looking for another guitarist.
Influences Airiel, Cocteau Twins, Slowdive, MBV, cure, Lemom Grass, Star Horse, Lush, DIIV, Chapterhouse, KOD, Tamaryn, etc.
We currently have drummer, bassist and guitarist and have a few demos in the works, but need another guitarist with similar influences and sensibilities to help fill out the songs and share in the writing process.

Lyrics to Slug by Doused
Hi!! I can't figure out the lyrics to the second line of the song (and can't find them anywhere). I know this EP was pretty popular on here when it came out so I thought someone might know. I know it goes 'You don't need all the things that you say' but then it sounds like 'I don't need to beat a dead horse Tilly' and I don't think that's quite right. This is my favourite song at the moment and I want to use the lyrics for a fanfiction. Thanks!! :)

nobody asked for this, but there's no high quality scans I could find
the 1st photo is what I made, 2nd is the original, and the 3rd is a cropped photo of an LP copy I found somewhere on the Internet long ago (cuz the CD album art is just a crop of the LP). I also threw in the really distressed photo that I usually see everywhere
