Today, I came home to find out that my dog chewed my SD card that was on my shelf. The sd card was broken (two missing pins) but I decided to give it a try to see if I could still access the data.

And ... It worked, it was just a little slower.

Managed to save the photos! Turns out they were all pictures of the culprit.

Nice surprise.

Can anyone tell me whether SanDisk uses slightly different colors for the same card models?

I have the following problem: I bought a used 400 GB card. It does not work, so I thought it might be fake.
I compared it with my existing 200 GB cards, but now I am confused because I also noticed a significant color difference between the two 200 GB cards.

Both of them have always worked fine so far, and even testing them with H2testw does not show any issues.

So is it possible that all of the cards are legitimate even though there are color differences? Or could one of the 200 GB cards still be fake but somehow works normally anyway?

Edit:
Thank you for the numerous replies. I assume that the card is not fake, but actually just defective. I hope others can find this thread in the future. It’s really unfortunate that SanDisk doesn’t make it easier to identify counterfeits through clearer color differences and more consistent print quality. Additionally, I noticed that the one card was manufactured in Malaysia, while the other cards were manufactured in China.

H2testw also didn’t detect any errors on the card itself, only the write speed is absurdly low.

Dark tealish streaks at the back—is it normal? Impending doom? I don't know?

This is a Sandisk Express 256GB, which I bought not too long ago for my Switch Lite. It's my first time owning one ever, so I try to be super careful with it. This is basically the second time I remove it, and I try to be super gentle too when I do it, but this time I've noticed these streaks on the surface of the back. The front looks completely normal instead. Since I'm having no issues whatsoever (besides reaching the 1K vid/10K photos limit, that's on me.), can I take it as something that usually happens, and I shouldn't worry much—or would it be best if I were looking for a new one already? Thank you to whoever will kindly respond.

Damaged Sd card

i have an sd card that i dropped into a fountain, wiped and put into a camera where i formatted it twice (dumb ik, i was drunk) and i really want those files back, there are a bunch of videos that i need. i put it through photo rec and a lot of them recovered as 7kb and wouldn’t open. what are my chances looking like? I can’t pay $200 to get them professionally extracted so im trying to find other options or does it look like they can’t be recovered?

Edit: The camera used was a Sony ZV1!

Micro SD Cards keep Corrupting

Every single one I get seems to last 2 years at most before stopping. They get recognized by the computer and will be stuck loading forever, and my phone won't acknowledge theirs a card in it. My switchs corrupted, 256 Gb's and I have no idea what to do, I'm about to break every piece of tech I own in this house, the apps that "restore your data" don't do anything and I don't wanna redownload EVERYTHING in the sd card again (I had to get a ride to a place with Internet for months to get everything before, I got hit by a fucking car trying to download updates) what do I do? All the guides just say the same apps again and again, which NEVER WORK! Something that uncorrupts sd cards, a guide or someone that won't just try to restore it??

Do I have hope or should I end it all

I dropped my switch and the micro sd broke andddd I'm kind of really upset because it seemed like my game data was saving to the card instead of the switch... Is there any hope

Edit: RIP my sd card but turns out my game data is okay, just no screenshots or videos.

SD card not reading

I am not sure what to do and Google has only confused me.

I have an SD card that appears fine physically. However when I place it in 3 different computers it doesn't read. My camera won't recognize it either.

I have tried a recovery software to no avail. Though that did fix another of my SD cards. I am missing 1000s of pics on these 2 SD cards and am unsure of the next steps. Any assistance in guiding me to a fix(or even a professional recovery service) would be much appreciated.
