Mini 14 scout project

Mini 14 scout project

I know the old mini 14 accuracy was nothing to brag about.

I want a small reliable mini 14 project. I picked up this rifle obviously brand new.

I want to use the stripper clip, flush 5 round magazines and either the hanibal Samson rail or ultimak.

What scope do you guys recommend that will
Not break the bank with decent magnification, light weight and good eye relief?

I know people successfully push this rifle to 300 yards and beyond.

Not interested in a reply for a guy under 30 who is jacked up in his micro***** and is obsessed with ar15. I already have two of them somewhat boring.

I am an ak guy and like wood furniture. The mini 14 is accurate. I would have went with Springfield m1a socom but it is too big and heavy and expensive.

Vortex LPVO on a Gunsite Scout?

Would a Vortex Razor Gen II HD-E 1-6x24 VMR-2 with the MRAD reticle (SFP) make sense on a 16in Ruger Gunsite Scout in .308 with an XS rail?

Does anyone run something similar? Would a 2-10 make more sense?

My range has a max distance of 200m but I hope to be able to shoot farther once in a while.

Cheers
