What is this white stuff on the roots of my dehydrated Fernwood mikado?

Hi all!
First time snake plant owner- I have little Fernwood mikado which I understand I underwatered a lot. I was repotting it as the bottom of the soil had become compacted and I noticed this white growth? Could anyone please help me out? No black or foul smelling roots. And only a few roots have this white thing.

Thanks a lot!

My snake plant is blooming

I’ve had this plant about 5 years. She’s thrived on neglect. I noticed the shoot a few weeks ago when I moved her outside and saw blooms today. Apparently this is extremely rare! What a treat!

Cut off pups and mold grew

I cut off the pups and didn’t let the end callous over before I repotted it. Is my whale fin toast with the soft, moldy spot?

FAILURE TO THRIVE

Okay so this is the story with this Moonshine pup. I bought its mom and it when it was still a pup back in early Nov 2025. I waited 2-3 weeks and cut the pup away from the mom (pup had great independent roots already going). So I then potted it into this clay pot, where it has lived ever since. It lives on the shelf under the grow light with most of my other snakes, in the same soil they have. Its mom is lovely and thriving. But now it is May 2026 and I can honestly say it has not changed or grown AT ALL since Nov 2025. That’s 6 months!! It has made roots and is very stable in the pot with that root system. But the leaves haven’t grown or opened. It hasn’t made new leaves. It was given appropriate fertilizer a couple weeks ago. I talk to it. It holds a place of honor on the shelf - right front and center! Did I offend this baby? Why does it want to live looking like a true green thumb instead of its leaves splaying out and living a good life? I just watered it. It smells normal, like wet dirt. No pests anywhere. What is going on???

it has been a bit and I would like to keep this planter if possible. so I'm wondering if I should repot this bad boy. also looks like a possible new baby might be growing? (last photo)

Help from the experts would be appreciated since I’m a fan of sanseveria but a novice in their care. I have this whale tail that is fairly new from the garden center, it hasn’t been exposed to any pets that may have caused damage. It’s been watered once in about a month and a half, it sits in a sunny window.

I’ve noticed these spots and rust looking spots on the leaves. If these are indicative of disease, what measures should be taken to stop the spread. Could it also be too much or too little water causing rot or rust, should I use filtered water?

Any guidance on care and treatment products (if any) will be very much appreciated!
