FYI for anyone who has received a text saying Notice of Default, it’s a scam

Whoever keeps making these scams is doing an awful job at it, the Texas Seal at the bottom was AI generated, you can’t even read the seal. 🤦 Also, I’ve haven’t been to Dallas in 4 years.

Miniso at The Rim is shutdown by the City of San Antonio.

Was going with my wife to go shopping and the city shut them down for not having a certificate of occupancy and unpermitted electrical work.

Recommendations on quick help

I’m desperate in trying to find a way to get money for rent today (the first half) & trying to find a job quick.

I’ve tried so many options & im at a dead end.

Job application upon job application & nothing. I’ve been able to make things work the last few months but now I’m stuck.

I don’t like asking for help. I’ve tried to figure this all out and I just feel like a failure right now.

How is the ER at University Hospital?

I was called by my doctor to get to the ER as soon as possible to get checked after getting some labs done and telling him about some symptoms. I am getting ready to go this morning, but I am nervous after reading some of the reviews online of University Hospital. My doctor specifically told me to go there.

How was the wait? The reviews mentioned people having to get treatment in the halls and sitting on the floor. The last time I went to an ER was during COVID and it was horrible, I never even got a bed before they discharged me. I am hoping that this current issue won't require me to be admitted or need a bed longterm, but I also don't want to be stuck in a hall with a bunch of people. I know its kind of out of my hands anyway, but do you all have any recent experiences there? Was the wait long, did they keep you in the halls?

Edit: Thanks for the replies, most were helpful! Not sure where everyone got that I wouldn't go at all. Also, my doctor has no privileges here, he just sent me here because I don't have insurance and he said the could enroll me in Carelink while I'm here. All he sent me here for is to get an MRI faster than waiting 2 months for one. That being said, I feel like it is extremely important that those suggesting this know that a doctor having privileges at an ER/hospital does NOT get you "ahead of the line" or anything like that. You still get triaged and wait your turn like everyone else. I've been waiting for a few hours now, it's about what I expected, but having no insurance you don't really get to pick and choose these days.

Where to go for FD258 fingerprint card?

Hi all, does anyone know where to go for this?

I’m out by seaworld and went to bexar county sheriffs office. They said they no longer do it in office, that I would need to go to identogo.

I visited two identogo locations that both said they do not do the cards, only digital.

I found a certifix live scan location, but they digitally scan, print in Cali, then mail the card to me.

I tried a couple UPS locations, but they also only do digital.

Even called a couple gun shops because I thought they might use them for ATF stuff.

My job offer sent this requirement yesterday with only 7 calendar days to complete, so there’s a time crunch.

Any advice on where to complete this?

Looking for local CSA or farm share in San Antonio (produce + dairy)

CSA / farm box recommendations in San Antonio?

I’m trying to find something similar to what I had in VA, a local farmer subscription that included fresh vegetables and raw milk delivery.

Are there any farms or services around here that offer weekly deliveries or pickup? Bonus if they include dairy. Thanks in advance!

Kinda wanna be a trash goblin and drive around finding treasure in bulk pickup areas. Especially the fancy neighborhoods.

How's Diving/E bikeing? What's getting around like in and around the city as well as outside?

Keep in mind everyone says traffic in their area sucks and that no one but the hyper locals know how to drive, So be constructive and specific in your praise or condemnation of the city's roads, traffic and genneral navigatability. What are some good routes or parking tricks, places to avoid (grid lock accidents waiting to happen) if you don't mind sharing

I actually HAVE an apartment recommendation

I am NOT being compensated in any way for this post. I'm just a normal person who got sick of living in "luxury" crap, finally found something nice, and want to share.

I've lived at Park at Westover Hills for 2, almost 3 months now and I still can't say enough positive.

It's not just bare minimum, it's above and beyond for what you pay.

The staff is phenomenal. I had a few minor issues at move in and maintenance was there in minutes. They even compensated me an extra $500 off rent for the "inconvenience" (it wasn't even that bad). That's held up, too. Maintenance comes that day or the morning of the next for any work orders, and does the WHOLE job. Not just patches it until it breaks again.

I really consider the staff similar to a work friend. Obviously we don't spend personal time together, but whenever I'm in the office for any reason we end up chatting. They're responsive and actually answer the phone.

The apartments are well kept (they are newer construction) but they were built with quality materials.

And the amenities. Y'all. WHEN I TELL YOU this is the ONLY place I've ever lived where I'll use the community spaces at all, much less just to sit and chill.

The grounds are beautiful with tons and tons of outdoor spaces to sit and read, socialize, or just wander around and have some outside time. The pool looks like something you'd find at a vacation resort.

There's "green egg" grills, 2 gigantic dog parks, and an indoor dog wash (I have cats but my best girlfriend will bring her dog to get clean and have some social time sometimes). The landscaping is beautiful and they've planted herbs in many places. Grab some rosemary for your chicken.

The gym is professional-level and can be used 24 hrs. It's not an airplane bathroom with a treadmill that doesn't work and half a set of free weights. There's multiple machines - preacher curls, leg machines, dumbells and barbells, steppers, bikes, treadmills, *a power rack*.....

Indoor common spaces are also fantastic. There's a big screen sports simulator. Golf, baseball, football..... $6k espresso machine, free for use. 2 co-working spaces. Table games. Pool table and that area can be rented out for parties.

I'm sure there's a lot more I'm forgetting.

Pricing: TOTALLY reasonable for what you get. I have a "studio".... which is actually a small 1 bedroom. It has walls and a door. And it's 100 sq ft BIGGER than the "small one bedroom" in the garbage I last left. Full size washer and dryer. Patio.

Altogether I pay $1300. Think of that split if you're a couple without a lot of stuff.

The next size 1 bedroom starts at $1300, with fees would be around $1400.

Yes, if you want a decent place you're going to pay a little more. But I toured several other complexes in this area, that weren't half as nice and didn't have half these amenities and it was a price difference of only $100-150 less.

There's still plenty of units available since they actually just finished construction last year. Traffic can be crap in this area, yea. But I work super close so that's not a big issue for me to have an apartment that actually feels like a home.
