Another absolute classic for today! I decided to highlight it by just doing the full set of 3 again. :) Always such a funny scene! I love Sushio's original work here, because there are slight touches that did not make the final cut! You can easily play 'spot the difference' here! Lol. The biggest change is the blush on her cheeks, but I will let you find the rest on your own, heheh. The matching top layer at the end kinda makes me laugh because of her floating face! Just looks so funny to me, like a memeface! I love how you could visually combine these two genga for perfect details. Animation is so awesome, lol.

- No. I have decided to leave Sushio's touch out of Ryuuko's face.
A double feature of amazing key genga today! These are special because they have Imaishi's notes and Nakashima's. Sushio is still the Artist here, but you can see that both directors have left notes! This is the red and black writings you see. I don't have many of these key genga, so its a real treat when I can post 'em! Besides, the artwork is fantastic, too. :) I can only speculate that they decided to go with another animators facial expression sheet, instead of what Sushio drew. And if we look, we indeed can see some subtle changes in her face! Obviously talking about the second genga here, in this case.

I've lost touch with Ryuuko's face design, sorry. (Nakashima)
- Ryuuko's bandage is labeled.
- Double shadows are labeled in two places.
Another double feature for today! The first one, we will be continuing to look at with different layers and Sushio's version! And what a treat! We get a rare Imaishi key frame! He did a lot of the designing and animating, but he wasn't a genga guy for the most part! You can see the style difference quite clearly especially when Sushio's Ryuuko is right beside it! I love his work, though. Such a great illustration! It is on greenish paper, because its not technically a final version. Imaishi is showing the animators EXACTLY what he wants, and they take this layer and turn it into all the others! We also can't know what Nakashima was talking about in the other genga, but he signed that note! And yes. THAT scene will be coming up. ;)

Fighting with Senketsu today! Lol. I always loved this scene. :) Now, we get to look at each frame! Or at least the key ones, haha. Also, I didn't mark the translation this time. But in most of them today, her teeth are labeled. Just thought I'd pop it in here instead. More later! Going to try and catch up on some past sick days, so you'll probably see a few extra posts here and there!

Only a set of 3 today, but I really wanted to give focus to this beautiful shot! The intricate artwork of the main genga today is just so amazing! I'd even venture that it is a nicer piece of artwork than the finished frame! Just incredible. One of my favorites of Ryuuko!
Should Ryuuko be outside? Probably not. Is it going to matter later? Probably not. Does it matter to make her happy? Yes, it does, and Satsuki obliges her sister.

And he is officially outta here! I believe that these are the last frames from the current scene. We still have some content to get through before the end of the episode, but this has been a fun episode to post! Ryuuko looks kinda funny in that first illustration! Blam! Home run. I really enjoy the last two frames today. I have a wonderful art frame to start the next post with, so stay tuned! :)

- Please ensure that the shading on the transformed suit is applied in a way that is consistent with the design, without being affected by light sources. The skin areas will still be affected by the light sources.
We start a new set today! Only the first half, like yesterday. There are some really great frames in this sequence! Cute artwork. :) We are back to Sushio today! And the latter half of today's post finishes that lovely Imaishi piece off. The other layers are from Sushio, and you can easily see the difference in styles, even if these ones today are only partially complete sketches adding in details for the layers! Honestly love what Sushio did in the third slot!

Still struggling! Lol. Though we reach the target frame today! :) Such a silly expression and scene! Haha. I love that in the 3rd illustrations, we get a sectioned note from Imaishi! Apparently, he had to yell at the animators to show them the emotion to put into Ryuuko. LMAO. Adds a whole new appreciation for this scene, doesn't it?

Yikes, my boobies hurt, looking at this. Lmao. STOP PULLING RYUUKO, OMG. No wonder she be sending off in the last frame. :P The animators do an incredibly good job of the Comedy in this scene, and also making us uncomfortable on her behalf, lol. If you're just glancing at the middle frames, she also kinda looks like a headless Thanksgiving turkey, rofl. The last few days are the perfect example of a wonderfully cartoonish sequence!

It's my pleasure to start with another Imaishi illustration! This director's layer is always the final cut, and the genga goes through a on-model change, but that's it! I love it when we get a glimpse into what the directors wanted exactly, because it is what plays in their mind! Maybe its because I write a lot of stories, but I love to see other people's story visions. :) Anyway! Frames are in reverse-order today. SNAP! No peeling Senketsu off, after all!
Well, in this case, "waits for her to wake up" because Mako fell asleep halfway.

Moving toward a new key frame today! And we finish up with the final two layers from yesterday's post. :) All of the genga posted today are top layers. We can see the refining of details especially between the third and fourth slots. I did not offer translations this time because I'm actually stumped for a change! I can read it, but it doesn't make sense to me. I think it must be inside animator knowledge stuff. First time that's happened! Anyway! On we go! This week is going by so fast!

Yes!! Was looking forward to sharing Tuesday's selection! Love these frames! Our target frame is cool, but just look at these genga without all the darkness in the shot! Love being able to see the full details of these Ryuuko poses. We have the top layer coming in second. And! Of course, the main layer to yesterday's Imaishi illustration. You can even spot the differences there! But I think that first piece of artwork shines the brightest, today. :) Always love when they use more color in their genga!

- The others should also be shown as solid lines.
I got a real treat for you guys today! A genga key frame with a ton of Imaishi's and Nakashima direction! Though most of it comes from Imaishi this time. :) We get interesting looks into the stages just before production! I also wonder. There has been many notes about the lines on Senketsu being solid lines over many of the frames that I have posted! I wonder if that means they had some trouble with it? Since these are fairly consistent reminders. Perhaps this is an issue the team ran into while animating! Teaser for tomorrow is at the end. ;) I'll have the other layers of that frame for ya.
