Why is no one talking about this construction site at [Energylandia]?
Vekoma? Maybe the Tilt Coaster?
Trip report [Wiener Prater] - March 2026
I've been to Vienna a couple of times before but this was the first time where I was able to dedicate a whole day to Prater. We visited at the end of March and stayed at the Sparks by Hilton hotel which was just across the road. Unfortunately, it was really cold with a light drizzle, so naturally not every ride was open - especially, since it was a Monday.
If you're looking for a place to have breakfast, I recommend the cafe "Ponykarussell" on site. It's a lovely cafe with great food.
Among the rides that were closed were the indoor drop tower "Spectacolo", the log flume "AquaGaudi" and the kiddie coaster "Race". "Rollerball" hat technical issues both Monday and Tuesday and didn't operate either.
Before talking about the coasters, I'd like to mention a few of the flat and dark rides. I'll add the ticket price (as of March 2026) for every ride I've been on.
--- Flat rides ---
Black Mamba - €5.-
This chaos pendulum is my favourite thrill ride at Prater and might be one of my favourite flat rides of all time. It operates similar to a booster but has two rotating arms. The feeling when those arms align is amazing - it feels like several seconds of ejector airtime while you're suspended upside down.
Tornado - €5.-
It's a weird looking swing with some controlled flips (both forwards and backwards). I liked it, it's fun but can become a bit repetitive towards the end of the cycle.
Drop tower - €6.-
Offers a great view. Other than that, it's your standard drop tower (80m) - the drop felt a bit slower compared to other models of this type I have ridden.
--- Dark Rides ---
Blue Planet Urgewalt der Giganten - €5.-
A walkthrough experience with 3 simulators in between. It's a bit dated and the first "elevator" is kind of bad. But I enjoyed the rest of it, especially the final section which has really cool visuals.
The Clown VR - €6.-
Very disappointing VR ride. The visuals are low-res and it doesn't do too much to tell a story or create a creepy atmosphere. The table scene is cool but the rest was a dud.
Skull Rock - The Pirate - €6.-
That might have been the best ghost train I've been on. It's pitch black inside, so you often don't see the scares/animatronics coming. It has great set design and a tense atmosphere. I can't recommend this enough.
Hotel Psycho - €6.-
It's from the same people who made The Pirate but is straight up horror themed. It's a bit older and you can see that in the animatronics. Nonetheless it was still a tense and satisfying experience.
--- Coasters ---
Wiener Looping - €10.-
Obviously the headlining attraction. The drop/double down is pretty good including ejector airtime and I love the hangtime of the Finnish loop. Unfortunately, the dive loop lacks some whip and the final helix is just ok. Overall, it's a very short ride that doesn't justify the price tag in my opinion. Especially since they've increased it to €10.- I rode it once in the morning and once at night, although I have to add that the second row was blocked by dummies throughout the whole day as it was quite cold. Don't get me wrong, it's good ride but I like Helios a lot better. 8/10
Gesengte Sau - €7.50
Great theming, good ride length and really smooth: It's a very fun Bobsled that I would have ridden several times if not for the expensive entry fee. Side note: We weren't allowed to wait for the next train to ride front row despite us being the only people in the station. 7/10
Megablitz - €5.-
I recommend the last row for some airtime during the drops. It tracks surprisingly well for its age and can get quite intense in the helices. Fun ride! 6/10
Boomerang - €7.-
It's not too rough and the lap bars definitely helped avoiding headbanging. The bars are not padded but, personally, I didn't have any issues with them as they seemed to fit me perfectly. I rode last row and was pleasantly surprised. The tunnel is a nice touch. Still expensive, though. 6/10
Hochschaubahn - €4.50
A piece of history. Very slow and rattly but I enjoyed the ride and the theming it had. Don't miss this if only for its historic value. 3/10
Insider - €6.-
The maze in the queue is awesome. I liked the pumping soundtrack and the lasers during the ride but it can't hide the fact that it's just your average spinning wild mouse. Fun but a one-time thing. 4/10
Maskerade - €5.-
The building looks amazing, unfortunately there's barely any theming inside. Maskerade is very short but in an unbalanced car you can spin quite a lot. 3/10
Zug des Manitu - €3.50
A powered kiddie train. I was the only person on it as my gf sat this one out (zen ride) but the operator was still hyping me up lap after lap. At some point I thought he would never let me leave; I ended up doing 5 or so laps. The rattle adds to the feeling of riding a train. I actually had more fun on it than I should have had. 2/10
Dizzy Mouse - €5.50
Riding by myself I got the car to spin out of control. I think those Reverchon mice can be quite fun for what they are. I loved the cat-tunnel at the end as well. 4/10
Wilde Maus - €5.-
Standard wild mouse by Maurer. The laterals were insane on this one, though. 3/10
Volare - €6.-
I had to do it. It was my first Zamperla flyer and I'm a bit conflicted about it. The first turn is really rough but after that, I managed to secure myself enough to avoid any further headbanging. The ride experience itself is certainly unique but also rather boring. It lacks forces, I think. Overall, I wouldn't recommend riding this, I didn't like it, and yet I've ridden worse coasters. 2/10
[Quantum Accelerator] is finally hosting riders after a year long delay!
Happy to say it’s a solid coaster, with some surprising moments of floater airtime, and is faster than I think many were expecting. The queue is decently themed with some nice easter eggs to both Shipwreck Falls and Goliath. Plus the bits of on ride theming are nice, with some cool fog effects.
It’s a great fit for the park, filling the launch coaster gap and providing a fun ride everyone can enjoy. It’s not crazy intense, but it’s not slow, boring, or janky. It’s just smooth solid fun!
[Quantum Accelerator] at [Six Flags New England] is VERY good!
Definitely should have used a tripod to stabilize the shot but oh well. Definitely a great addition to the park!
[SeaWorld San Diego] is a promising park with some of the worst ops and atmosphere I have ever experienced.
Me and my parents ended up in San Diego for spring break, so I dragged them to SeaWorld in hopes of a pleasant experience. I came in knowing they had a smaller collection of coasters, but my god was it underwhelming. Me and my dad bounced between every major coaster (except Journey to Atlantis, which wasn't posted anywhere that it opens late af) and found some of the slowest, least enthusiastic ops possible. Firstly, their newest coaster Arctic Rescue was on 1 train, which was painful. Emperor and Manta were on 2, but it didn't matter since both were operated so poorly. Emperor stacked every cycle, and wouldn't even begin loading until the previous train hit the break run, and Manta was the saddest thing I've ever seen, to the point I timed the dispatches and found it was running at below 500 riders per hour (it's rated at 1400 according to the internet, but that's running 4 trains; even with 2 it should be hitting far higher than it was considering how easy it is to check and dispatch those trains). I understand that United Parks aren't know for running their parks the best, and yes, I was visiting on a Thursday, but it was spring break in San Diego too and it is down right evil to have their coasters running like that. On top of that, my mom (who isn't the biggest fan of coasters) made her way to the orca show and had an awful experience there too. The park felt desolate despite the crowds as well, and really just felt half-baked. Arctic Rescue's queue was clearly rushed, Emperor looked like an active construction sight, and half of the park felt empty of anything interesting. Genuinely the worst experience I've ever had at a park. Manta and Electric Eel were pretty sweet tho. 4/10
[Quantum Accelerator] was a fantastic addition to Six Flags New England
With this year’s opening day, we were finally blessed with the opening of Quantum Accelerator, and it was everything I asked for. Such a diverse ride that’s fun for all ages, absolutely no complaints from me. If you’re visiting the park anytime soon, I would advise be careful about the wait times, they can get brutal. At one point in the day, it reached over two hours, so be prepared before riding!
[Runaway Mine Train] at [Six Flags Great Adventure] has no business being as rowdy as it is. And I love it!
I took my first rides on Runaway Mine Train today in at least fifteen years and I do not remember this airtime hill being this unhinged back then. Just look at the people in the front cars getting yeeted to the moon. Car 1, row 2 is definitely the magic seat on this bad boy.

[Six Flags Mexico] Review
My partner and I recently ventured down to Mexico City for the first time to celebrate a friend’s 30th birthday. First of all… WOW. Mexico City is INCREDIBLE. We were there for just 3 days, but after less than 24 hours, I was completely in love. From the beautiful, expansive public parks to the affordable, delectable food around every corner—and even the hilariously fun (and kinda gay) extravaganza that is Lucha Libre—this place has a charm and a soul that are unlike anywhere else I’ve ever been (and I’ve been a lot of places). But despite the endless things to do in MC, we had one major bucket list item to cross off: Six Flags Mexico! The park is about 30 minutes outside of the city center and, spoiler alert: it’s amazing. Below are a few of my thoughts:
ATMOSPHERE:
This cannot be overstated: Six Flags Mexico is ALIVE! What do I mean by that? Well, every inch of the park is popping with color, every ride is operating, every food stand is open, every stage is running a show, every speaker is blasting appropriately themed music, and every guest seems to be having a great time. When’s the last time you felt that way walking around a US Six Flags park? 🤔
Walking into the entry plaza, we immediately realized we were in for a treat. In fact, we spent 30 minutes exploring just the entry plaza… because IT. IS. BEAUTIFUL. I know you’re not supposed to drink the water in Mexico, but it must be incredible for the flowers, because the landscaping in this park is absolutely insane. I mean it—every Six Flags park should take a one-year break from new capital expenditures and put it into the landscaping budget, because just the way Six Flags Mexico *looks* makes you want to BE there.
Now, granted, the back of the park—themed to DC and, ironically, Hollywood (where we live)—is a *bit* less gorgeous. BUT, those areas are still freshly painted and they are absolutely bustling with kinetic energy. So it still works.
RIDES:
Superman el Último Escape:
Raise your hand if you love Morgan hypers. 🙋🏻♂️
This coaster has SO much presence, towering over the entire northern boundary of the park. The entrance sits right at the end of the entry plaza, making this a great first and last stop of the day. Things get off to a great start with a well-themed queue, quickly moving line, and then—once the ride begins—a super fun (and wilder than expected) pre-drop section. The view from the top of the lift is jaw-dropping—Mexico City is GIGANTIC and it surrounds you on all sides, with Superman likely giving one of the best vantage points of anywhere in the city. I absolutely love a massive straight drop into a tunnel—such a great sense of speed. The coaster then enters a “spaghetti bowl” section filled with giant hills, curved drops, and a wicked intense inclined helix. Throwing in some unexpected laterals and jolts of ejector airtime makes for a great first half. Then you TEAR through the midcourse into a series of large drops and camelbacks with fantastic flojector air. I would’ve enjoyed one last solid drop after the final turn, but regardless, I still loved it. It’s an upper mid-tier hyper for me. 8/10
Joker:
Joker is a relocated Gerstlauer spinning coaster with a layout that’s been cloned a couple times from one of their Bobsleds, but it’s got a few things going for it. For one, the queue is AWESOME. We’re talking “never-in-America funhouse” awesome (take a look at my vlog and you’ll see what I mean). It’s a very fun—and slightly dangerous—way to hype you up for the ride. The crew keeps the line moving with a continuous-loading platform, and the ride itself has a couple standout moments: a nice midcourse curving drop that suddenly whips you the other direction halfway through, and then a themed tunnel at the end with a fun surprise inside. Despite being a clone, it’s definitely worth doing. 6.5/10
Batman: The Ride:
This is also a clone… but unfortunately, not the one you’re thinking about. Despite Six Flags successfully installing 6 butter-smooth and forceful Batman clones prior to this, for some reason, they gifted this park a shiny yellow Vekoma SLC. This was actually Vekoma’s 30th installation of the Suspended Looping Coaster, so they had plenty of time to learn from previous mistakes. They did not. And this is not worth riding. Ow. 🤕 😊 3/10
Medusa Steel Coaster:
RMC’s 3rd steel hybrid conversion has been on my bucket list for a long time. I’m a sucker for terrain coasters, and diving in and out of the ravine on smooth, twisted I-Box track absolutely delivers. While I typically enjoy a traditional straight drop to start a ride, the way Medusa picks up speed off the road lift and barrels into the…barrel-roll drop surrounded by head choppers is quite a cool sensation, and the 3 large steep drops that yank you over their tight crests throughout the course offer plentiful strong airtime in the back rows. The 3rd drop in particular is a standout moment—you plummet probably 50-60ft to the ground, through the structure, and then get thrust into the ‘backwoods’ section—flipping upside down, getting ejected on a wave turn, and flying through dense foliage. This section really differentiates the ride for me and is the reason why this coaster truly TRANSFORMS at night. The pacing tapers off a bit near the end, and it’s not the MOST forceful ride, which is why Medusa lands in the top-mid-tier of my RMC rankings, but it’s undeniably a world-class coaster with infinite rerideability. 9/10
Unfortunately, the rest of the park’s coaster lineup is clones. To be fair, each of them is presented VERY nicely, but there’s only so much that can be said about another S&S free spin or a Vekoma boomerang (even with the new trains/restraints.) The flat ride collection is decent, but Six Flags Mexico REALLY could use another standout coaster and a couple more unique supporting rides. Darn you, Cedar Point…
ENTERTAINMENT:
Once again, the vibe at Six Flags Mexico is electric, and a big contributor to that is the live entertainment all over the park. We did visit during the Spring Celebration, so things were likely even more energetic than usual, but the level of production quality and sheer amount of happenings all around the park truly made me… confused. As in, “This is freaking amazing. WHY IS ENTERTAINMENT NOT VALUED IN US AMUSEMENT PARKS?” Throughout the day, we saw live stage shows, a colorful parade, and perhaps the most incredible nighttime spectacular (outside of SFQ’s New Years Eve show) I’ve ever seen—we’re talking live singing, amazing choreography, aerobatic acts, drones, fireworks… the definition of *spectacular.* Again, Six Flags USA, take note.
FOOD:
As part of the Spring Celebration, we had tasting cards that allowed us to try 4 items each from various kiosks around the park. Unfortunately(?), we were running around all day exploring the park for our first time, so we didn’t have enough time to fully take advantage, but I did manage a satisfying latte and spring donut, a grilled cheese with honey and salsa macha, and a delicious order of chicken wings in a slightly spicy, tangy mezcal sauce. All were great, so we will definitely be prioritizing more bites on our next visit. I’ve since been told the al pastor tacos across from Superman are a must-have… honestly, can’t wait. 🤤
FINAL THOUGHTS:
With its incredible setting, beautiful landscaping and upkeep, vivacious atmosphere, and two world-class coasters, Six Flags Mexico pretty much blew us away. Is this THE most underrated Six Flags park, and maybe one of the most underrated parks in North America, in general? Hopefully in the next 5-10 years, a couple of the aging clones can be replaced by quality custom additions and this park will start to receive the attention it truly deserves.
I have A LOT more thoughts. For an even more in-depth review, please give my Six Flags Mexico vlog a watch and a like over on YouTube at Daniel Rides Coasters. Thanks for reading and watching—more fun to come very soon! 🇲🇽🎢🎡🤗

Prepare yourself… [ArieForce One] actually has a wait this weekend.
Color me shocked! I figured I’d make the nearly 2 hour drive to get some laps in… it’s spring break and there’s several birthday parties today so I am standing in a bonafide line right now to ride it!
And they’re only on one trains ops so if you’re coming this weekend, be prepared to wait 😩
Part of [Twister III: Storm Chaser] at [Elitch Gardens] is getting rebuilt.
Looks like it will be down most, if not all of the season. Giving a heads up to anyone who plans on visiting.
[quantum accelerator] ride report
- thank you Ace and six flags for allowing Ace members to be the first to ride on opening day.
2.I was lucky enough to be the first train of opening day. This roller coaster is a great addition to the park and a great family roller coaster The first half of the layout is pretty tame after the second launch it's pretty forceful but begins to relax towards the end of the spaghetti bowl before the brake run. myself personally I love high energy and intense roller coasters but I can see this roller coaster being a very popular one at the park. I see the GP loving it.
I do have a concern Superman only had one train operation which was the blue train and the red train was nowhere to be seen. This ride cannot operate with just one train it was fine early in the morning but on a busy day it needs both trains. on the other hand this could be a positive thing because maybe the red train is being totally revamped and we're getting a new one. either way Superman was running smooth.
finally I'm super excited for the merger to be over because it finally seems like all their ducks are in a row I know it was just opening day but the parked was clean painted nicely and seemed ready for the guests. here's to hoping there's a bright future in the six flags franchise. now let's get that b&m WinCoaster with the long track layout passing over the entry point and I'll fucking love this place even more
[Star City] Philippines Trip Report
Had a 24 hr stopover in the Philippines from our hop from Japan to Vietnam so of course I found the closest park to visit!
We got to Star City for its 1pm opening with plans to hit Star Flyer however when we scanned in we were hit with signs that said “outdoor rides open at 4pm” so we had to pivot.
Luckily both of the kid coasters were indoors so we hit those first.
First up was [Wacky Worm] when we got into line the worker wasn’t ready yet, and took about 10 mins to finish getting everything started. Nothing notable to mention here it’s a wacky worm
Next was [Egyptian Spinning Coaster] which was “closed” but we saw a bunch of workers in the station so we decided to sit close to see what happens with 3 hrs to kill. After waiting 30 mins with several other people a local went up the exit to ask if it was going to open, it turns out it was open and they forgot to remove the closed sign lol.
Overall it was a fun spinning SBF Visa coaster, one of the longer layouts I’ve experienced.
We did a couple other attractions like the walkthrough haunted house to kill time until 4, but since the park was pretty dead we got through what we wanted quickly. We ended up leaving the park and walking around the nearby area until 3:30.
Then it was finally time for [Star Flyer] the jank looking Pinfari Invert which was 1 of the only surviving rides of Star Cities 2019 fire which destroyed 80% of the park. I got on the first train of the day, and while it is a bit jank it’s actually pretty smooth and an enjoyable ride. Would take this over and SLC any day!
I actually got back in line to ride again but the 3rd train of the day stopped on the lift and they cleared the queue. We decided not to wait and to go explore more of the country on our short stopover.
Overall a decent visit, and would recommend. I’d suggest showing up a bit later if the staggered opening is an everyday thing as it was way too much time for this park.
Found an Old Ticket from [Six Flags Great Adventure]
I really miss physical tickets you can get from parks. Can‘t remember the last time I’ve gotten a physical one since all I’ve purchase was all digital
Lego [Nemesis Reborn] at [Alton Towers] - update 2!
Ok, so this update is awesome - look at those trains! 😍 loving this build!
My one small hope for [Michigan's Adventure] is that Mad Mouse actually uses its block zones
For those that haven't been to Michigan's Adventure, Mad Mouse is their Arrow wild mouse. Which is actually a great little wild mouse. Problem is, the thing has 13 block zones and they use 2 of them. For some reason, all the Cedar Fair operated Arrow Mad Mouses will only dispatch ONE CAR out at a time, and wait until that car hits the brakes before sending the next one up the lift. It's maddening. And it means that you get a full hour long queue when it should be a 10 minute wait if they actually dispatched out 4 or 5 cars at a time instead of JUST ONE.
Are there any updates on the Shuttle Loop at [Indiana Beach]?
I’ve been following it for a while now, and I wanted to wait until it was open to make the trip down there to ride it. So, I’m com to the best place I know, which is here. Thanks in advanc!
Throwback to last year when I got an entire train to myself on [Banshee] when it had a 45 minute wait
Yes, I needed the red belt seat at the time, I PROBABLY won't when I go in a few weeks, because I've continued to loose weight. I can easily fit front row on Wild Eagle now.
Adding a few beauty shots
What’s the decibel level of [Mine Blower] at [Fun Spot Kissimmee]?
Always wondered what it is, I 100% know it’s above 100.
