I’ve still got some more to catch up on but these are the spreads I’ve completed for April so far. I’m really happy with how they’ve turned out and had so much fun making them.

Porfavor y gracias 🫂

My version of a reading journal!

I’m not artistic at all, and can’t draw to save my life, but I’m an English teacher and love symbolism, so I started creating digital collages to encapsulate the themes, symbols, motifs, and overall vibes of the books I read. Then at the end of the year I’ll print it out as a coffee table book!

These are a few I’ve done so far! I’m about 10 books behind for the year but I’m sure I’ll pick it up again (thanks ADHD 🤣). I hide a lot of stuff in the images too so if you zoom in you’ll find a bunch of Easter eggs and details!

Just wanted to share 😊

April wrap up: part 1

I read 15 books this month which is quite a lot for me as I usually read about 6 a month, the only problem with reading all these books is that I’ve fallen behind on my drawings, although I have done all my writing, so here is the first half of my April reading with completed pages, hopefully I’ll finish the rest of April’s pages in the next week or so.

This is my first time keeping a reading journal, and honestly, I feel a bit shy about sharing it. I’ve been going back and forth on whether to post anything at all, especially after seeing how intricate and beautifully put together some journals online are—it can feel a little daunting in comparison. But I still wanted to put this out there, maybe get some small feedback or even just a bit of encouragement. I’m really enjoying the process so far, and I’m hoping sharing it might help me stick with it and improve along the way.

Reading Logs

I’m trying to get better with understanding and retaining the information I’ve read. In grade school I remember filling out chapter notes after reading each chapter, I remember it helping me remember the story a lot! So, I’m trying to figure out a good template for me now. I looked on pinterest and found some that were more geared for keeping track of how many books read, personal opinion of books read, overall review of a book, etc.

I haven’t been able to find something that is for after each chapter to fill out ;-;
I just want to know what’s the most important things to write down/ note after reading a chapter!

If anyone could give me some ideas for what I should make note of after reading a chapter, formatting for it, or anything else I would appreciate it a ton :)!

Also if anyone has a chapter log template they’re willing to share I’d be much appreciated as well! I’d love to take inspiration from any I can find!
