JT Friday night show - parking info and photo
For those wondering about difficulty parking at tomorrow's show: I'm a Joshua Tree local, so I just now swung by the venue to check it out.
Chatted with a site coordinator who was happy to show me around and assured me there'd be plenty of parking (his rough est. was about 1k cars) and tons of staff on hand to direct and organize traffic. The photo here is just one of the lots. There's an equal size lot next to it (I can only upload one photo at a time, apparently), and then a whole other lot that will run the whoooooole length of the property. Hope this sets some minds at ease -- it did for me!
He also let me take photos of the stage as they were setting it up. Will post that separately.
Why does this album hit so much harder in your 30s than your 20s?
JT show stage set-up for tomorrow
Just posted separately about parking, but the staff also let me take photos as they were setting up the stage. Hope it's ok to post here. It's going to be amazing!

Joshua Tree fan poster
Made this for the first date tomorrow in Joshua Tree and thought it'd be cool to share it on here.
Is there a vocoder vocal on Misfit Love going “bow ba bee ba bow”?
reddit.comJosh Tree Meet Up Tomorrow
If anyone wants to hang out before doors open at 6 tomorrow, I’m thinking we meet up at Tiny Pony around 3? It has pretty big tables from what I remember and will likely be less crowded than the Saloon in downtown, but I’m open to other suggestions!
Anybody in Joshua Tree looking to attend tomorrow evening?
I only just realized I have a second ticket for the show at the Institute Mentalphysics.
35 male, no expectations in any direction! Came out here from LA for the weekend on my own.
NEW QOTSA-Live Archive design!
NEW Live Archive design!
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2026!
Tomorrow marks the start of a new Queens of the Stone Age year with another "Catacombs" chapter. Essentially a continuation of 2025, the latest teasers hint at new material that's getting closer and closer!
In preparation, I've been working on making the Live Guide/Tour History a bit more user-friendly over the past few weeks and months.
There's now a much clearer mobile view with a filter function for various criteria (year, tour, audio, video, memorabilia). All the audio/video/memorabilia (now media) templates have also been updated with a more modern, reader-friendly design.
I'll also keep the compact, old-school list alive for a little while longer.
The list is now quite comprehensive and already includes the 2026 dates. A few formatting errors and misclassifications still need fixing, but I'm pretty happy with it already.
YOU can help anytime! Send me your audio/video recordings, setlists, ticket images, and anything else that can be associated with a show, if it's not already in the archive, and I'll gradually add it at times!
Enjoy the opening night tomorrow! ❤️🖤 🎸 🎶
Song of the Day #49 - Spiders & Vinegaroons
Be honest, did anyone know what a vinegaroon was before this track made you google it? Spiders & Vinegaroons, a cool groovy jam from the 2011 re-release of the self-titled album. It was originally featured on the Kyuss/QOTSA split EP that was actually posted on this sub a couple of days ago! (tip of the hat to you if you're on here, congrats on find, not jealous at all). Much like other of their instrumentals, this track is a great example of what the desert rock genre is all about, rough instrumentals that still manage to find their groove throughout the runtime. This track was also used as their walk-out song at the start of their sets for a while, although there has been no reported instance of them performing the actual song as part of their set. What's your opinion of this jam? Is it filler or is it something you'll jam to?

Who's going to the show at Agua Caliente? Are we all getting drunk at a tiki bar??
So *apparently* there's some hillbilly hoedown in desert this weekend ruining the fun for everyone else, so the plan on getting wasted after the show and crashing at a dive motel was scrapped, now we're gonna get drunk from a pineapple or something. I know PS had a few fun tiki joints, but what's out in Rancho Mirage? Any recommendations?
Is anyone going to the show on May 1st in Lincoln?
I really don’t want to pass up the show, but no one that I know is down or able to attend. I’m a woman, I’m in my late 20s, I’m just wondering if anyone’s planning on going & if so maybe message me(?) haha, I’m not sure how this works, this is my first post here.
Is there a term for the way Josh twists notes?
It's like a signature sound that I can only discribe as withering or souring, the tone is turned sinister at the end of certain chords - almost like the guitar is going 'actually nevermind, this sucks' lol.
Folks in Joshua Tree tonight, any plans for a drink?
I know the show is tomorrow but I think a few of us have turned up a day early (my friend and I have been here since Tuesday!), do we wanna meet at a bar tonight and share the love and excitement?
Song of the Day #48 - Made to Parade
"Slake your thirst... Bitches"
Dedicated by Josh to all of those people who work in a cubicle and go to a show to cut loose, Made to Parade is another one of those examples where Josh and the gang call out our society for conforming to the pack and doing what you're expected to do to succeed. The track focuses on making "taking your licks" and "biting your tongue" to climb that ladder. I personally have skipped this song more times than I would like to admit, but I also don't really step back into ITNR in quite some time, is this a track you regularly visit? And is it one you can relate to? Made to Parade has seen a healthy rotation in live sets, making at least 13 setlists every year throughout the End is Nero Tour. I expect this track to continue to make live sets at least a few times every so often going forward.
Live performances:
Forrest Hills Stadium, Queens, NY, 2023 (fancam) - https://youtu.be/_ZIT7i2BI5I?si=40fM9h2Ox9ZeZrpL
Horden Pavilion, Sydney, AUS, 2024 (fancam) - https://youtu.be/qSRuWTSL0KY?si=abxoQoskF-rK8-TF
Pukkelpop, Hasselt, BEL, 2025 (timestamp 27:38) - https://youtu.be/VY5sW8nDGmk?si=HmScaJmPcr7d0KRc&t=1658
Wish me luck for today's exam 🙏 ( he's doing my paper.)
Post Pop Appreciation
Listened to this album for the first time in a long time (5+ years) and I’m ashamed to say I forgot how good it is. If you aren’t aware, Josh cowrote/produced/performed on Iggy Pop’s album/tour (with Dean) and it’s great. It’s like a bonus QOTSA album. If you’ve never heard of this, check it out and you’re welcome.
