Excited for another season of art inspiration! I've been painting Ptown and the Cape for 10 years.

Reddit has been a bit negative lately! So let me share some positivity. I visit Ptown every year, even in the winter. I always find something to paint while I'm there! I've courted some galleries, but only after sharing in online groups like this have I seen real interaction with my Cape Cod paintings. So thank you for all the feedback and encouragement. Here's to 10 more years of painting the cape!

West Coast Provincetown equivalent?

I'm not at all familiar with the East Coast, and only marginally familiar with New England (NH, VT, & ME specifically). What would you say is the West Coast version of Provincetown? I usually fly into Manchester, NH when I visit New England , but I am wondering if it's worthwhile to maybe fly into Boston one time and check out Cape Cod/Provincetown? When is the best time of year to go when it's more "quiet coastal town" and less touristy?

Anyone been ruffied before at mews?

my partner and I had dinner at mews last night and they suddenly about 45 minutes after dinner began vomiting, couldn’t walk, agitated etc… they only had 2 drinks with a good amount of food so no way could have been from too much alcohol. they didn’t have diarrhea or anything like that just repeated vomiting and couldn’t walk so I don’t think it was food poisoning. Adding in they are totally fine this morning.

My Apologies

Last week after Tea Dance I made out with a guy upstairs and came on a bit to string and scared him off. I was a little tipsy and if he's on here I want to apologize. He was really good looking and my behavior wasn't cool. I'm sorry.

P-Town Pride 2026

I am trying to figure out if going to P-Town on Saturday 6/6 will be worth it from a “pride celebration” standpoint? I’m looking at all these online calendars but it doesn’t really look like there’s a ton of events? Just a few scattered ticketed events? Is that accurate?
I’m wanting to bring my daughter and her bestie (both genderqueer teens) on the ferry and was really hoping for some pride events like a parade or some such thing. I’m sure they’ll love going anyway but I was more so hoping for a real Pride-celebration feel to the day.
Thoughts/suggestions?

Twink Week

Hi y’all! My partner and I booked a trip for the week leading up to July 4th. We’ve never been that week, and figured it would be super busy, but it’s the only time in the summer we could make work together. Now I’m finding out it’s Circuit Party Week/Twink Week? We are a couple of gay guys in our late 30s, decidedly *not* twinks (more bear-adjacent), and not super huge partiers (the most partying we do is at Purgatory once or twice every trip).

What I’m here to ask is, Will we still get to experience the Ptown we love, with the diversity of age/body type/lifestyle/experiences, or have we doomed ourselves to a week of homogenized techno gays?

Also, this will be our first time bringing a dog with us. Any suggestions for giving him as magical a time as we always have??

Thanks in advance, and I can’t wait to see you all on Commercial Street!

Visiting June 14th: necessary to make reservations?

Hello all, I'm looking forward to visiting from Scotland on a day trip from Boston on June 14th. I realise the summer season is pretty damn busy, but on that specific day there aren't any major festivals as far as I can see.

With that in mind, is it necessary to book restaurants or even bike rental in advance or do you think we'll be OK? Most likely I'm over thinking it of course

Thanks

edit: thanks for the answers! sounds like it's not a deal breaker but maybe a good idea if I have my mind set on a specific place. looking forward to visiting!
